Promoting the tradition of mutual love

Humanitarian and charitable work in Quang Ninh province has been and is being implemented synchronously and effectively, thereby contributing to providing practical care for disadvantaged people and people in difficult circumstances.

  These humane activities not only ensure social security conditions but also improve the quality of life for people, aiming towards the goal of sustainable social security.

With the motto “Leave no one behind”, Quang Ninh province has promoted the mobilization of organizations, agencies, businesses and a large number of people to participate in volunteer movements. Thanks to the close direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, along with the smooth coordination of departments, branches, sectors, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, organizations and philanthropists, humanitarian and charitable activities have been continuously spread from the provincial level to the grassroots level.

As a core force in humanitarian activities, the Provincial Red Cross Society has effectively implemented many meaningful programs. A typical example is the annual "Humanitarian Tet" movement, helping to bring a warm spring to the less fortunate. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025 alone, the Society at all levels mobilized more than 10.7 billion VND to present 17,200 gifts (worth from 300,000 VND - 2.5 million VND/gift) to the poor, near-poor, Agent Orange victims, and households in difficult circumstances.

Not stopping there, the campaign "Each organization and individual is associated with a humanitarian address" continues to spread widely. In the first 6 months of 2025, the Provincial Red Cross Society has assisted 4,341 people with a total budget of more than 4.7 billion VND. In particular, the "Humanitarian Month" in 2025 recorded the active support of organizations, businesses and individuals inside and outside the province, with a contribution of over 3 billion VND, used to build 21 humanitarian houses and give gifts to more than 2,800 vulnerable people.

In addition to regular support activities, many creative volunteer models have been maintained and expanded such as: "Humanitarian porridge pot", "Charity meal", "Love rice jar", "Free bus", "Humanitarian fund box", "Safe community", and traffic safety first aid teams... These models not only provide practical support but also demonstrate the spirit of humanity and solidarity in the community.

The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Provincial Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Disabled Children awarded a plaque of recognition for the kindness of agencies, units and businesses that have shown kindness in supporting people with disabilities and orphans in difficult circumstances in the province, August 2025.

With a core role in supporting people with disabilities (PWDs) and orphans (ORs), the Provincial Association for the Protection of PWDs and Orphans (OPs) has constantly innovated its methods, closely following the direction of the Central and local governments. In 2025, the program "Connecting loving arms for people with disabilities and orphans in Quang Ninh" was held on April 18, Vietnam Day for People with Disabilities, with the meaningful theme: "Spreading love, lighting up faith".

Through the program, the Association has mobilized 146 organizations and individuals inside and outside the province to support a total value of 4.53 billion VND, creating an important resource to support thousands of difficult cases. Of which, nearly 1,400 beneficiaries directly benefited from a budget of nearly 1.6 billion VND, focusing on holidays such as: Lunar New Year, International Children's Day June 1, Action Month for Children...

A highlight in the Association's activities is the sponsorship program for 75 orphans with support ranging from 500,000 - 1 million VND/month/child, contributing to sharing the burden for poor families, while at the same time giving children more confidence on their journey to adulthood.

Mr. Lanh The Vinh, Chairman of the Provincial Association for the Support of the Disabled and TMC, said: With a flexible, effective and timely approach, we ensure that the assistance reaches those in need. To achieve effectiveness, we cannot be separated from the local Party Committee and government in selecting disadvantaged groups, focusing on disabled children and orphans from poor and near-poor households with difficult circumstances. Thereby helping them stabilize their lives and excel in their studies.

Along with livelihood support programs, organizations are also actively implementing the improvement of people's living conditions. In the first 6 months of 2025, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations mobilized the construction of 171 houses and 60 hygienic toilets for households affected by natural disasters and climate change, with a total cost of nearly 7 billion VND.

The Provincial Red Cross Society received 100 million VND from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and unions of Hong Gai ward to support the Cuban people, August 2025.

Of which, the Provincial Veterans Association supported the construction of 19 new houses (worth more than 1.5 billion VND); Trade Unions at all levels mobilized the construction of 11 "Trade Union Shelters" (720 million VND); the Provincial Military Command built 4 gratitude houses... demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and responsibility to the community.

In the context of complex climate change and natural disasters, Quang Ninh province clearly identifies the important role of community support models for adaptation and recovery. Authorities at all levels, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, unions and humanitarian organizations continue to promote programs to support social protection beneficiaries, build safe communities, and prevent and respond to natural disaster risks.

The work of mobilizing social resources has been focused and expanded, mobilizing many resources for social security activities, thereby creating a cohesive and affectionate social foundation, together aiming for sustainable development goals.

Responding to the call of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society to mobilize support for the Cuban people on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba. On August 22, 2025, the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 2964-CV/TU on responding to the call to mobilize support for the Cuban people. Accordingly, Party committees at all levels, party organizations, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the province have stepped up propaganda to call on agencies, units, enterprises, cadres, civil servants and people of Quang Ninh to join hands in support.

As of September 3, 2025, through the Provincial Red Cross, agencies, units, businesses and people of Quang Ninh donated 120 million VND. This is a demonstration of the loyal international solidarity of the people of Quang Ninh and the people of Vietnam.
