Naval Region 2 launches campaign to support the Cuban people

On September 3 and 4, units of Naval Region 2, including Brigade 171 (HCMC), Training Center and Technical Support Center (Dong Nai province), held a launching ceremony to support the Cuban people with the theme "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship".

The activity responded to the call of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society , part of the series of events "Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Year 2025" , commemorating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1960-2025).

Speaking at the launching ceremony, leaders of the units affirmed that this is an activity of profound humanitarian significance, mobilizing resources to support the Cuban people; at the same time expressing gratitude for the noble acts that the Cuban people have done for Vietnam during the war years. The activity also contributes to educating officers and soldiers about the tradition of “mutual love” of the nation and the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.

The leaders of the units also requested the Party committees and commanders of the agencies and units to continue to do a good job of propaganda and mobilization work to all cadres and soldiers to participate in supporting the Cuban people on a voluntary basis, in accordance with the actual situation of the unit, ensuring practicality and meaning.

At the launching ceremony, officers and soldiers of the units directly participated in the support. The donation program will continue until October 16, 2025.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, the Technical Assurance Center opened the 2025 competition for excellent industry officials with 40 contestants; the Training Center organized the closing ceremony of the volleyball tournament to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
