Truck carrying 30 tons of white sugar of unknown origin discovered

On the morning of August 20, the Traffic Police Department, Hue City Police, said that through patrol and control work, the unit discovered vehicles transporting goods of unknown origin.

At 3:00 p.m. on August 17, at Km32 of La Son - Tuy Loan highway, the patrol team of Phu Loc Traffic Police Station, under the Traffic Police Department, Hue City Police, discovered a truck with license plate 49H-02041 acting suspiciously and asked to stop the vehicle.

Upon inspection, the patrol team discovered 600 sacks of white sugar in the truck, weighing nearly 30 tons, with a total value of about 600 million VND.

At the time of inspection, driver Pham Tan Tam (born in 1993, residing in Hamlet 4, Hoai Nhon Dong Ward, Gia Lai Province) could not present documents proving the origin of the above goods.

The working group made a record of the incident, handed over the people, evidence and vehicles to the Economic Police Department, Hue City Police to continue to investigate and handle according to their authority.
