The more socio -economic activities develop, the more good and bad problems arise. Drugs from the area bordering Laos flow down, go by sea to third countries, and even the number of drug users at sea has increased compared to before. The work of preventing and combating drugs has become as difficult as "looking for a needle in a haystack", fierce and fierce. The subjects who trade, store, and transport this type of prohibited goods are often very vigilant, always have many sophisticated tricks to avoid the monitoring, searching, and eradication of the authorities. They are even very reckless, fighting back against the authorities with weapons.

Therefore, in the face of this potentially unsafe war, officers and soldiers of the Anti-Drug Crime Task Force No. 2 must always uphold their bravery, determination, and expertise.

Anti-drug Crime Task Force No. 2 provides free medical examination and medicine to Catholics.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Phan Thanh Hai, Political Commissar of the Group, one of the measures is to organize and promote "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" in a sincere, practical and effective spirit. Each cadre and party member, first of all the leading ministries at all levels in the whole unit, should raise their sense of responsibility and be dedicated to the work of the principle of democratic centralism, along with strict discipline. Be exemplary in implementing resolutions, directives, decisions, assignments and transfers of the organization; take the lead in implementing the Party's rules and regulations, the internal rules, regulations and provisions of the organization, agency and unit.  

From learning, the Union has built the model of "3 together, 3 know" (eating, living together; working together; sharing together; knowing background, knowing circumstances, knowing social relationships). The model of "Say no to disciplinary violations", "Love and responsibility", "Coast Guard with ethnic and religious compatriots", "3 exemplary Union members" (exemplary in ideals; exemplary in discipline compliance; exemplary in being proactive in Union activities)...

In the Union, every officer and soldier takes “practice as their word”. The commander sets an example with dedication and discipline, the young soldier sets an example with courage and the courage to face danger. They are simple and humble people, but in every step, their eyes sparkle with the belief that: Keeping the sea clean is also keeping people's lives peaceful.

With that spirit, during the fighting process, the unit has achieved many feats. More than 356 special cases and cases have been solved, such as C620, 201HT, 123M, 323M... There were sleepless nights when special forces soldiers rushed into criminal dens with guns, ready to fight to the end. There were moments when just a second of delay would have threatened their lives. But with courage, intelligence and bravery, all were victorious.

For many years, the unit has been recognized by superiors and awarded the title "Determined to Win Unit"; received the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of National Defense , the Vietnam Coast Guard Command; and was honored by the President as an excellent unit in the fight against drugs nationwide in 2023. Behind those medals and certificates of merit are sweat, tears and blood silently falling to preserve the peaceful blue color of the sea.
