Large quantity of modern medicine found abandoned on the roadside in Da Nang

Da Nang City authorities are coordinating to inspect and clarify the origin of a large number of expired medicine blister packs and empty bottles discarded in Hoa Hiep Nam ward, Lien Chieu district.

This medicine still has an expiration date printed on the blister pack until August 2026.

On the afternoon of June 10, the functional forces of Hoa Hiep Nam ward (Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city) coordinated with the police to inspect the scene and discovered a large amount of modern medicine on Xuan Thieu 21 street.

At the scene, hundreds of dark brown bottles without labels were found, many still tied in plastic bags, thrown among the rubble and household waste.

Notably, among the sacks containing the bottles were many intact, unused blister packs. Although they were roughly covered with a black tarpaulin, the blister packs were still exposed. The blister packs clearly printed the name “Cetecocenzitax 25mg” with an expiration date of August 2026.

The area where the drugs were discovered is on a road with no residential areas, mostly vacant land, and only a carpentry workshop operating nearby. This is also an area where rubbish and household waste are frequently illegally dumped.

Authorities have seized some drug samples for testing. The leader of the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Nam Ward said that the locality is coordinating with the Economic and Environmental Police Department - Da Nang City Police to clarify the origin of the above drugs.
