The stamp depicts President Ho Chi Minh , the founder of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, depicted in a modern graphic art style, both solemn and familiar.

Uncle Ho's face appears gentle, his eyes shining with faith and aspiration for independence and freedom for the nation. Simple but delicate lines, combined with the dominant red and yellow colors of the National Flag, create a highlight, honoring the great leader, a symbol of patriotism, self-reliance and aspiration for peace of the Vietnamese people.

The block template shows the National Emblem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the map of the Fatherland. The block background uses the image of a bronze drum, a symbol that reminds us of the historical roots and depth of national culture.

The stamps are 32 x 43 mm in size, while the blocks are 80 x 100 mm in size with face values of 4,000 and 19,000 VND respectively. The stamps were designed by artist Nguyen Du (Vietnam Post Corporation), and are available nationwide at provincial, municipal, central post offices, and transaction post offices from August 26 to June 30, 2027.

According to Mr. La Hoang Trung, Director of the Postal Department - Ministry of Science and Technology, on August 27, 1946, on the occasion of the first anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the founding day of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the President of the Government signed a Decree allowing the Vietnam Post Office to print and issue the first set of stamps of independent Vietnam.

The stamp set, titled "Commemorating the First Anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945) and the Founding Day of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945)", includes 5 stamps, depicting the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh in 5 colors: green, red, yellow, blue, purple, with the words "Democratic Republic of Vietnam".

Mr. Trung said that since then, there have been 10 sets of stamps issued on the theme of National Day, in 1946, 1957, 1960, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995 and 2005. "Issuing a set of stamps commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day is one of the meaningful activities of the Ministry of Science and Technology to celebrate the country's important holidays in 2025," said the Director of the Postal Department.

According to him, the stamp is small but is a "cultural ambassador", demonstrating Vietnam's sovereignty in the common "postal territory" of 192 member countries of the Universal Postal Union, as well as in the community of stamp collectors and lovers.
