The Asia International Mathematical Olympiad (AIMO) 2025 for high school students nationwide is a prestigious, international-scale academic playground to seek, encourage and develop mathematical thinking for the young generation of Vietnam in the integration era, organized by Hoa Hoc Tro newspaper in collaboration with Tien Phong Joint Stock Company.

This event is one of the practical activities to implement Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. As a fundamental subject of all sciences, mathematics not only provides logical thinking but is also the "common language" of high-tech fields such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, big data or digital technology. Developing mathematical skills for students from an early age is the key to forming a team of brave digital citizens, ready to master the future.

The AIMO 2025 competition not only meets the requirements for capacity development but also inspires the learning of modern Mathematics, promoting the ability to apply it to areas such as programming, data, artificial intelligence and future sciences . This is an opportunity for students to practice thinking, access academic language and integrate into the global learning space through the language of Mathematics in English.

The AIMO 2025 competition will consist of two domestic rounds to select candidates to participate in the International Final round.

The Preliminary Round will take place online on June 22. Students will register individually and complete the test at home via the platform: https://www.aimo.edu.vn.

The National Finals are scheduled to be held on July 6 in Hanoi , in the form of a paper-based exam.

The International Finals take place from August 2 to 6 in Tokyo (Japan).

The entire test is in English, consisting of three parts (A, B, C) with a total score of 100, and the test time is 60–90 minutes depending on the level of study. The test not only tests knowledge but also requires students to apply logical thinking, critical thinking skills and academic language.

The winning candidates will receive certificates, Gold-Silver-Bronze medals, and many valuable prizes, including cash, scholarships, gifts and educational gifts from the accompanying units.

Organized since 2012 by the Asian Mathematical Olympiad Committee (headquartered in Hong Kong), the Asian Mathematical Olympiad is one of the prestigious international Mathematical competitions in English with the participation of more than 20 countries and territories such as China, Singapore, Korea, Malaysia, Iran, India...

Vietnam participated in the AIMO competition since 2019 and quickly made its mark with more than 200 international medals, affirming the students' capacity as well as the right orientation of Vietnamese general education in developing students' thinking and foreign languages.
