Strive for 90% of communes to meet new rural standards by 2030

On June 13, the Central Office for New Rural Area Coordination said that nationwide, more than 6,000 out of nearly 7,700 communes (78.7%) have met the new rural commune standards; the multidimensional poverty rate in 2024 will decrease to 1.93%, achieving the target of an average reduction of 1-1.5%/year.

By 2030, the country strives to have at least 90% of communes meeting new rural standards; 9-10 localities completing new rural construction; and 4-5 localities completing modern new rural construction.

The national target program on new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction plays a particularly important role in promoting socio -economic development in rural areas, ensuring social security, and improving the lives of people in rural areas.

By 2030, the average income per capita in rural areas will increase at least 2.5 times compared to 2020 (about 105 million VND/person/year).
