The opening ceremony is always a sacred moment, bringing with it excitement and anticipation for a new school year. For teachers and students of Peace School Kindergarten, the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year this year is even more special, as the joy of welcoming the new school year is multiplied by great news: the school has been officially recognized by Cambridge International as a Cambridge Early Years Center (CEYC).

This title is not simply a recognition, but a testament to a 10-year journey of persistently preserving and cultivating true values. This important milestone opens a new path, affirming the continuous efforts to improve the quality of education and the commitment to building a modern, humane learning environment - where each child is nurtured in love to grow up confident, steadfast and ready to enter the 21st century.

10-year journey of transformation: Understanding to create real value

Peace School was established in 2014 with the vision of becoming an inspiring school with a safe, loving, respectful and creative educational environment... Over a decade of development, the school has always strived to create a learning environment where students are nurtured with positive emotions, develop lifelong learning abilities and form healthy living values.

Not chasing after external changes, Peace School chose to transform itself from within, starting from basic questions: “What do teachers need to learn to become teachers?”; “What kind of learning environment do students need?”; “What do parents expect from a trustworthy educational environment?”… These questions have led the school to a journey of quality standardization in a serious, methodical and responsible manner.

Ms. Nguyen Nhu Mai, Founder and Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Peace School, shared: “Becoming a Cambridge Early Years Centre is not a destination, but a stop to look back on the journey of maturity, when everything we do is associated with real values. We believe that education is not a short-term race, but a long-term commitment to learners and to ourselves.”

Cambridge Early Years Centre (CEYC) is a title recognized by Cambridge International for preschools that meet strict standards to implement the Cambridge Early Years education program.

To prepare for this important highlight, since the 2024-2025 school year, Peace School has made a shift in its educational orientation: from a traditional thematic curriculum to a learning outcomes model, based on the Cambridge Early Years copyright framework combined with competency development orientations from Common Core Standards (USA).

Immersed in nature, Peace School teachers and students are passionate about learning with the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy, inspiring creativity in an inspiring space (Photo: School).

The goal is not only to standardize content, but more importantly, to change the approach: from teaching to know to teaching to understand; from memorizing to applying; from teacher-centered to student-led learning.

This transformation requires a comprehensive upgrading of staff capacity. Teachers are no longer transmitters, but designers of experiences, observing students’ individual journeys, providing valuable feedback and creating positive learning environments every day. Along with that, learning spaces are redesigned in the Reggio Emilia direction – open, flexible, stimulating exploration and rich in natural elements.

“Building an international standard system does not start with the curriculum, but with the professional awareness of each teacher. When teachers change their perspective on children, students will change their perspective on learning. CEYC is a natural result of a powerful working process of the entire Peace School team,” shared Teacher La Thi Khanh Hoa , Principal of Peace School.

A systematic, standardized and humane curriculum

From the 2025–2026 school year, Peace School officially launched the Cambridge Early Years copyright curriculum. This program is specifically designed for preschool children, focusing on six key areas of development: Communication, Language and Literacy, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Creative Expression.

At Peace School, supplementary programs and talent clubs are systematically organized by a team of specialized teachers, helping children develop personal capacity, social skills and sustainable physical fitness (Photo: School).

These areas are integrated seamlessly into daily play-learning-discovery activities, helping children develop comprehensively in a modern, humane and inspiring learning environment.

What makes Cambridge Early Years special is that the programme allows each child to progress at their own pace, recognised by a realistic developmental process with the mindset that each student is a unique individual and the role of adults is to facilitate and accompany them in the right way.

With the full-time bilingual model, students are active in an environment where English is present every day. English teachers not only participate in Cambridge program lessons but also accompany daily activities, from meals, playtime to extra activities. Therefore, this second language has gradually become a natural part of children's thinking, reflexes and communication, instead of just an academic skill.

In addition to the main curriculum, Peace School also pioneers in synchronously implementing exclusive supplementary programs, aiming to foster vital skills for future generations.

These include programs such as Social-Emotional Education (Peace School SEL), Life Skills (Peace School LifeSkill), Specialized Physical Education Program (StepUp) and the after-school Talent Club system. These programs help students not only develop intellectually and physically, but also practice behavioral skills, nurture creativity and form the necessary qualities of a confident and capable global citizen.

Along with that, the trust and support of families is an indispensable factor in the success of Peace School.

Ms. Hoai Thu, parent of Nguyen Sam in Pony class, confided: “Looking back on 10 years of being attached to Peace School through the footsteps of my three children, I see this place as a second home for my family. What I cherish is not only the knowledge and skills that the children gain through the lessons, but also the way the school strives to change each school year, patiently listening, wholeheartedly caring and maintaining sincerity in everything. It is in this environment that my children have grown up peacefully, been themselves and learned how to live happily, confidently being themselves to step out into the world…”

Becoming a Cambridge Early Years Centre is a testament to the tireless efforts, profound innovations and sustained commitments over a long journey.

Peace School will continue to work with a serious spirit, aiming for true quality and maintaining kindness in each small class, so that each student can begin their journey of life and learning in the most complete way.
