(Chinhphu.vn) - The Minister of Science and Technology has just awarded the Decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Head of the Board of Members of Vietnam Post Corporation, to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Members of the Corporation.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung presented the appointment decision to Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang.

This is an important milestone, starting a new development phase of Vietnam Post in the digital age, aiming to become a key national postal and technology enterprise.

At the Decision handover ceremony, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that Comrade Nguyen Truong Giang is a special person, who voluntarily took on a task at a unit with many challenges from a favorable position. VNPT VinaPhone is a company with large revenue and profit, growing well, while Vietnam Post Corporation is still facing many difficulties.

“Surely few of us sitting here dare to do that. Surely only those who believe in themselves, believe in someone, or have a great desire to overcome a challenge, can make such a decision,” the Minister shared.

After two years of many challenges, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung expressed his joy that Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang and the Vietnam Post Corporation had brought back growth, stopped the decline, and increased the salaries of over 50,000 workers. And more importantly, the path ahead was clearly visible.

According to the Minister, the growth and especially the gradual improvement of Vietnam Post will be the most valuable thing and the greatest joy for comrade Nguyen Truong Giang.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang expressed his deep gratitude to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long and all leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology for entrusting him with the new responsibility. At the same time, he appreciated the support and companionship of the members of the Board of Members (BOM), the Board of Directors and the staff, employees and workers of Vietnam Post Corporation during the nearly 2 years he held the role of Head of the BOD.

The new Chairman of the Board of Directors commented that the world is moving rapidly, with many unpredictable fluctuations. This is a pivotal moment that is both full of challenges and opens up many great opportunities for Vietnam Post to reposition its role and contribution in the digital economy and digital society.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang said that in the next 12 months, Vietnam Post Corporation aims to increase revenue by 25%.

6 strategic tasks of the postal industry

Chairman of the Board of Directors Nguyen Truong Giang pointed out 6 strategic and key tasks that the leader and the Corporation's leadership will focus on implementing in the coming time.

Firstly , Vietnam Post will focus on strongly transforming from a traditional postal enterprise to a service technology enterprise, providing comprehensive solutions, integrating multiple services, and improving customer experience.

Second, thoroughly reform the pricing mechanism and operational efficiency, strongly optimize service costs, rebuild the national logistics market, and contribute to promoting the country's economic growth.

Third, affirming Vietnam Post's leading position in the logistics industry, aiming for a growth rate of 400% by 2030, providing the most comprehensive and optimal solutions for customers.

Fourth, develop and turn the “Postal Department Store” chain and the “Postal Department Store” e-commerce platform into the top 3 largest retail systems in Vietnam by 2030, associated with the advantage of extensive distribution channels and customer trust in Vietnam Post.

Fifth, deploy a comprehensive digital transformation platform for traditional grocery stores nationwide, with the goal of capturing 50% of the service market share for this segment. Vietnam Post will support small businesses to access technology, increase income, and contribute to the economic development of the community.

Sixth, build a modern, transparent, flexible, innovative management model, develop a team of young, technologically capable staff with a spirit of dedicated service and long-term commitment to the Post Office.

In the next 12 months, Vietnam Post Corporation aims to increase revenue by 25%, profit and employee income by 15%.

With the trust from the leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, along with the support, efforts and solidarity of the Board of Members, the Board of Directors and staff across the network, Chairman of the Board of Directors Nguyen Truong Giang is expected to lead Vietnam Post to make a breakthrough and become the leading national postal and technology enterprise in the digital age.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Post Corporation, born in 1971, has a Master's degree in Business Administration from Hanoi National Economics University.

Before becoming Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Post Corporation, he held many leadership positions: Head of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Post Corporation since August 2023; General Director of VinaPhone Telecommunication Services Corporation (VNPT VinaPhone); Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of PTI Post and Telecommunication Insurance Joint Stock Corporation.

With many years of experience working in the fields of post, telecommunications and insurance, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang is considered a leader with innovative thinking, good strategic planning ability and always focuses on improving production and business efficiency and improving customer service quality.
