The U23 Vietnam team will open the 2026 AFC U23 Championship Qualifiers with the opening match against U23 Bangladesh tomorrow, September 3. In preparation, U23 Vietnam has been training very actively and urgently in the past few days. According to the plan, this evening, coach Kim Sang-sik will continue to let the players practice lightly. The Korean coach affirmed that U23 Vietnam is having the best preparation for the tournament. In this training session, coach Kim Sang-sik summoned all the players who had just won the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship with U23 Vietnam in Indonesia, such as Khuat Van Khang, Pham Ly Duc, Dinh Bac, Quoc Viet... In addition, he also gave opportunities to overseas Vietnamese players such as Tran Thanh Trung (photo) or Viktor Le. Coach Kim Sang-sik said that the goal of U23 Vietnam is to win a ticket to the 2026 Asian U23 Finals. The team will also prepare for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. To serve fans, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has distributed tickets through online and direct channels. Since September 2, the Organizing Committee has sold tickets directly at the Phu Tho Provincial Sports Center. Tickets come in three denominations and will continue to be sold directly to fans in the coming days.
Coach Kim Sang-sik hopes that Vietnamese fans will come to Viet Tri Stadium to cheer and encourage the Vietnam U23 team in the campaign to win a ticket to the 2026 AFC U23 Championship. The opening match against U23 Bangladesh tomorrow is expected to help the U23 Vietnam team get the first 3 points in Group C.
