Unique race to find Bodhi leaves in Yen Tu

On September 6, 2025, at Yen Tu Heritage Site (Yen Tu Ward, Quang Ninh Province), the 2025 Ultra Trail Yen Tu Race officially opened in a vibrant atmosphere, with the participation of more than 1,060 athletes from 34 provinces and cities across the country and 6 international athletes from 5 countries (China, UK, Japan, India, Taiwan).

According to the Organizing Committee, this year's race is not only a community sports event, but also associated with the important event when the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac complex has just been recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage. This is a journey combining physical training, conquering challenges and promoting the outstanding global values ​​of Truc Lam heritage to domestic and international friends.

Athletes compete in 4 distances of 50km, 25km, 15km and 5km, with starting points from 4:00 am to 8:00 am at the center of Yen Tu ward and Yen Tu Nuong Village.

In particular, Ultra Trail Yen Tu 2025 has a unique competition format: at 50km, athletes must collect 2 Bodhi leaves at random checkpoints to be recognized as completing. At 25km, athletes need to collect 1 Bodhi leaf and present it at the finish line.

This highlight turns the competition into not only a speed race, but also a journey to challenge physical strength, strategy, and spirit of discovery .

This year's race also officially opens the Yen Tu Autumn Festival 2025, promising many unique cultural and sports activities. This is an opportunity to spread the spirit of physical training following the example of the great Uncle Ho, while continuing the sacred value of King Tran Nhan Tong, bringing the image of Yen Tu closer to the community at home and abroad.
