OCOP Lang Giang: Enhancing local products, promoting the quintessence of Bac Giang culture

(TN&MT) - After many years of implementing the OCOP Program, the local and typical products of Lang Giang ( Bac Giang ) have been elevated in status, not only increasing people's income but also contributing greatly to promoting the cultural quintessence of the land and people here. In the process of implementing the OCOP Program in recent years, Lang Giang district has directed communes and towns to focus on transforming crop structure towards improving quality and efficiency, towards commodity production of key products. The district also encourages the development of production models, improving management capacity for enterprises, cooperatives and households producing agricultural and non-agricultural products, as well as services according to the value chain, with the goal of stimulating creativity and internal potential, contributing to increasing income and improving people's lives. Recently, on December 3, the People's Committee of Lang Giang district (Bac Giang) organized an evaluation and ranking of the district-level One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, phase 2, 2024.

In this evaluation, Lang Giang district has 9 products participating, including 5 new products including: Huong Son mountain chicken eggs of Ho Ho Cao Cooperative; Crispy rice with pork floss of Do Vinh Thong business household; Dried straw mushrooms of Thanh Dat Agricultural Cooperative; Thanh Luong sticky rice cake of Thanh Luong Traditional Sticky Rice Cake Cooperative to be ranked 3 stars; Freeze-dried Cordyceps product of ADENCO Medicinal Mushroom Company Limited upgraded to 4 stars. In addition, there are 4 products evaluated and re-classified, including: Clean pork floss of Thao Thanh Business Cooperative; Hung Vuong straw mushrooms of Hung Vuong Agricultural and Multi-sector Development Cooperative; Nghia Hoa honey of Nghia Hoa Commune Beekeeping Association and An Ha asparagus of An Ha Agricultural Cooperative. In the list of products participating in the second OCOP evaluation, Thanh Luong sticky rice cake of Thanh Luong production facility stands out with its superior quality, imbued with traditional flavor. To continue developing OCOP products and creating a unique brand for the locality, in the coming time, Lang Giang district will continue to maintain recognized OCOP products; upgrade and orient the development of key products with strengths participating in the OCOP Program; organize evaluation, ranking and propose the provincial level to evaluate and rank district-level products. Currently, Lang Giang district has 30 products meeting 3-star OCOP standards.
