Dang’s house is located at the edge of the forest, deep in Lang Quan commune. The road leading to it is a degraded concrete road, full of rocks and dirt. The house is two stories, built in the traditional architecture of the Dao people, with wooden and concrete pillars. Inside, it is almost empty, all the household items have been burned, only the smoke-stained walls and charred wooden frames remain.

On the evening of June 19, while studying at home, Dang suddenly discovered a fire. “At that time, my parents and brother were both away, I was the only one at home. I was studying when I heard a 'pop' sound coming from the electrical outlet and saw the fire. I was so scared that I only had time to grab my identification papers and run outside to call my neighbors. But the fire spread so quickly, burning everything in the house,” Dang said, his voice still filled with panic.

Too scared, I ran to the village below to take refuge. When my parents returned and couldn't find me, they frantically searched for me. Only when they saw me again did they breathe a sigh of relief.

“That night I stayed up all night, thinking about how my family was already poor, my parents were only farmers, and now everything had burned down. I didn’t care about exams or studying anymore, partly because all my study materials had been burned,” Dang said, his eyes red.

As soon as they heard that a student in the class had a house fire, teachers and classmates came to visit and encourage him. Afterwards, the school supported reprinting of review materials, cleaned up the family, and created conditions for Dang to return to school soon.

On the afternoon of June 20, the Board of Directors, Youth Union and teachers of Xuan Huy High School directly visited and presented Dang's family with nearly 50 million VND donated by staff, teachers, students, parents and benefactors.

Ms. Ninh Thi Hong Loan, homeroom teacher of class 12C2, said: "What we hope most is to help students regain their spirit, continue to review and enter the exam with the most stable mindset."

“The family encouraged him a lot. I told him that no matter what the outcome was, he should stay calm, everything was over. Let his parents take care of the housework,” said General Van Sinh, Dang’s father.

After the fire, Dang also received attention and support from the local government, theeducation sector and the police force. The units coordinated to encourage and create conditions for him to stabilize his spirit and continue participating in the exam.
