On the evening of July 20, a representative of the People's Committee of Dak Mar commune, Quang Ngai province, said they were coordinating with the police to verify the case of a female student being beaten by a group of people in a coffee plantation.
Previously, on Facebook, many clips appeared recording the scene of a female student being surrounded and beaten by a group of people.

According to the posted clip, a female student was surrounded by a group of people in a coffee garden in Dak Ha commune, Quang Ngai province. The group repeatedly slapped the female student in the face and knocked her to the ground. Several other people also jumped in and grabbed the victim’s hair and pulled it hard.
The female student was beaten up by a group of people, and she fell to the ground, but the group did not let her go. Many people standing around even held up their helmets to call for them to beat the female student.
Several others stood around cheering and used their cell phones to film and post on social media.
Ms. Tran Thi Yen, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Dak Mar commune, said that the beaten female student was studying at a secondary school in Dak Mar commune. However, the fight took place at a coffee plantation in Dak Ha commune.
According to Ms. Yen, the group of people who beat the female student are from many different communes, so the police are summoning them for questioning. After having official information, a report will be sent to the Provincial People's Committee and the media.
