"As a student in the state of Maranhão, I feel ashamed that something like this happened in the state's educational environment.
"I cannot accept such a ridiculous, ridiculous, horrible scene happening in the lecture hall," a student expressed his opinion.

"I have done a lot of research on the subject of gender and sexuality, I invite those who are criticizing me to read my research first.
Then people need to understand that university is a place that brings a lot of new knowledge and approaches to students, including bold ways that are difficult to accept in high school," said Ms. Lustosa.
It is known that, in addition to her main job as a lecturer, Ms. Lustosa is also the lead singer in a band called A Travestis.

In response to the controversy surrounding the dancing and showing off of Lustosa's butt, a representative of the University of Maranhão issued an official statement: "We invited Lecturer Tertuliana Lustosa to teach several classes in the Anthropology, Ethnology and Political Studies departments.
In a recent class on gender and sexuality, Ms. Lustosa performed a dance that was considered inappropriate. In our opinion, university is an educational environment that emphasizes dialogue and multiple perspectives. All in service of the goal of comprehensive knowledge and multidimensional thinking.
Freedom of expression is an important foundation in the academic environment, however, we also emphasize the importance of maintaining a harmonious and respectful educational environment.
We will conduct an internal investigation into this incident to come up with appropriate solutions."
