Roc Ram village cultural house is a place where cultural and artistic activities regularly take place, creating connections within the community.
According to the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province currently has nearly 4,300 cultural houses in villages, hamlets and residential groups, of which nearly 70% have been invested in and built to meet the standards of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Many cultural houses have been equipped with televisions, computers, speaker systems, tables and chairs, sports grounds, bookcases, etc., becoming the center of political and cultural activities of the village. Here, propaganda activities and dissemination of the Party's policies and the State's laws are regularly organized, helping people access information quickly and accurately.
As a locality with 97% of Thai and Muong ethnic groups, Roc Ram village, Yen Tho commune regularly organizes cultural and sports activities, training courses on preserving traditional culture, popularizing science and technology... at the cultural house, attracting a large number of people to participate. Through these activities, the cultural house gradually becomes a "bridge of knowledge", bringing science and technology closer to the people.
Roc Ram village head Quach Van Anh said: “Along with the art and sports groups, the village also regularly maintains the activities of the Ethnic Identity Club with 35 members. To further promote the effectiveness of the cultural house institution, we hope that the local government will pay attention to encouraging the development of clubs, organizing art and sports activities associated with preserving the cultural heritage of the Thai and Muong people.”
Along with the mountainous localities, the village cultural houses in the plain localities of the province are showing remarkable effectiveness. Up to now, 18/18 village cultural houses in Dinh Tan commune have been invested relatively synchronously, with speaker systems, televisions, cameras, wifi... to meet the needs of community activities. This summer, the cultural houses of the villages in the commune are the places for activities of groups, teams, art and sports clubs, and places for children to play. In which, villages such as Dong Tinh, Ho Thon, Ve Thon... are places to organize soft skills classes for teenagers, instructing people on clean agricultural production and digital transformation.
However, according to the Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Dinh Tan Commune, Dong Thi Lien, there is still much to do to maximize the effectiveness of the cultural house. In particular, it is necessary to innovate and organize diverse activities in the cultural house to attract a large number of participants, especially young people. Along with that, the funding source for maintaining, organizing activities, and investing in equipment is still limited. Therefore, it is necessary to have the attention and direction of all levels and sectors, and the active participation of the people so that the village cultural house can be increasingly improved and operate effectively.
From mountainous communes such as Yen Tho to the plain commune of Dinh Tan, the system of cultural houses is affirming its position as the "fulcrum" of the community. It is from these spaces that the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has gradually spread strongly, becoming a driving force for the comprehensive development of the locality. In particular, in the context of digital transformation and advanced new rural construction, village and hamlet cultural houses are expected to continue to innovate both in terms of form of operation and content, not only being a place for traditional activities, but also becoming a center for providing digital information, serving community learning and economic development.
According to the orientation of the culture, sports and tourism sector, each cultural house will become a “modern community center” with many functions: both a place to organize meetings and traditional cultural activities, and a learning space for people. Along with focusing on building infrastructure, the application of information technology will be promoted, gradually forming a model of “digital cultural house”, where people can access the internet, exploit data to serve production, smart consumption and promote specialty products and OCOP products.
More than ever, village and hamlet cultural houses are facing the opportunity to become centers for spreading knowledge, culture, and connecting communities in the digital transformation era. When these spaces are "breathed into life" with practical, rich, and life-friendly activities, cultural houses are not only symbols of solidarity, but also a driving force for each rural area to rise up.
