The delegation visited the business area at Co.opmart Vi Thanh supermarket.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha, Director of Co.opmart Vi Thanh supermarket, said that it is estimated that by the end of August 2025, the total revenue of the supermarket will be about 79 billion VND, reaching about 63%; the average number of customers coming to shop is over 1,000 people/day, the number of customers doubles during holidays and Tet.
As for Winmart Vi Thanh supermarket, by the end of August 2025, the total revenue was about 33 billion VND, an increase of about 15% compared to the same period in 2024. The supermarket welcomed an average of about 24,000 visitors/month to visit and shop.
According to supermarkets, preparations for the National Day holiday on September 2 are ready, prices are stable, and there are many incentive programs for customers. Supermarkets have raised some difficulties and expressed their desire to receive active support from the relevant authorities, especially the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in connecting to diversify sources of goods as well as expand customer base.
Representative of the working delegation, Mr. Ha Vu Son, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, shared the difficulties and encouraged businesses to strive to find positive solutions to complete the 2025 plan. For supermarkets, it is recommended that units make more efforts in researching and developing solutions to stimulate demand, especially to suit new consumer needs (online shopping). The city's Department of Industry and Trade is committed to accompanying, actively supporting, and creating the best possible conditions for units in business activities.
The Director of the City Department of Industry and Trade also requested that supermarkets need to do a good job of stockpiling and stabilizing goods to serve people's shopping needs during the holidays and Tet at the end of the year.
