Great evidence affirms the success of the Communist Party of Vietnam

Sharing with Nhan Dan Newspaper's correspondent in Cambodia, Mr. Sous Yara expressed his admiration for the excellent leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, especially under the guidance of President Ho Chi Minh - who played a key role in guiding and leading Vietnam to achieve great achievements today.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), Spokesperson, Party Central Committee member, First Deputy Head of the Central Committee for External Relations of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), Chairman of the Committee for External Relations, International Cooperation and Information of the Cambodian National Assembly Sous Yara gave an interview to a reporter of Nhan Dan Newspaper stationed in Cambodia, in which he affirmed the leading role of the Communist Party of Vietnam under the leadership of leader Ho Chi Minh in bringing about the success of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945) and National Day (September 2, 1945) as well as Vietnam's outstanding achievements today.

According to the CPP Spokesperson, the Communist Party of Vietnam, since its founding in February 1930, has played the supreme leadership role, guiding and leading Vietnam to develop to the present day, becoming a modern socialist country. Vietnam builds a market economy based on the revolutionary ideology of Marxism-Leninism. Through the ups and downs of time, the Communist Party of Vietnam has remained steadfast in Marxism-Leninism, while also developing its own theories, suitable for specific goals.

Looking back at the history of Vietnam’s struggle to defend the Fatherland, Mr. Sous Yara emphasized the importance of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s decision to initiate the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement. After much effort and blood sacrifice, Vietnam successfully liberated the nation in 1945.

This great victory ended the feudal colonial regime, which had once enslaved the Vietnamese people. This was also a great milestone, abolishing the slave class and expelling colonialism, regaining independence for the country; at the same time, it was a symbol of sovereignty and pride for the Vietnamese people, who had fought tirelessly to drive out both imperialism and colonialism.

The Communist Party of Vietnam did not “fall asleep” after that important victory, continuing to organize major campaigns, including the Border Campaign in 1950 and the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in 1954. The Vietnamese army and people achieved resounding victories, leading to the Geneva Agreement, thereby affirming Vietnam's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to the First Deputy Head of the CPP Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Commission, this is the key point when the Communist Party of Vietnam not only leads spiritually, strengthens the determination of the Vietnamese people, but also outlines a clear and sharp path to national unity.

During the process of national reunification, from 1954 to 1975, the Party built a socialism with Vietnamese characteristics, carried out a correct revolution, and simultaneously solved two major tasks: building socialism in the North and fighting to liberate the South.

The First Deputy Head of the CPP Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Commission commented that this was an outstanding achievement of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Thanks to clear orientation, Vietnam achieved military and economic superiority and consolidated its internal strength to confidently liberate the South and unify the country. The climax of this historic victory was the Ho Chi Minh Campaign in 1975.

The victory of the campaign is the pride of the Vietnamese people before the whole world, a special milestone marking the end of the war in the Indochina region. The great victory in the spring of 1975 is a testament to the comprehensive role of the Communist Party, steering the Vietnamese boat to overcome difficulties and dangerous circumstances, helping the country gradually restore its socio-economy, maintain independence and sovereignty.

Mr. Sous Yara emphasized that the great achievement of the Communist Party of Vietnam since 1986 was the 6th Party Congress, which introduced the comprehensive Renovation policy, promoting deep integration, not only within the country but also with the region and the world. Vietnam made the right decision to open the free market and participate in the global economy. This role helps improve people's lives, stabilize society and strengthen Vietnam's international position.

It can be seen that Vietnam's development is always associated with maintaining independence and sovereignty, demonstrating the strength of the Vietnamese people. The Communist Party continues to hold a leadership role in the new era, always putting the people at the center. These are great proofs to affirm the success of the Communist Party of Vietnam, under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh. In particular, Vietnam has taken the right steps in opening up its market economy and establishing relations with economic and free trade partners. This has helped Vietnam become an economic “dragon” in the region, bringing great pride to the Vietnamese people.

Senior CPP officials believe that under the excellent leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, especially General Secretary To Lam, Vietnam will achieve its goals by 2045: enhancing its position in the region and the world, attracting high-quality foreign direct investment, improving labor quality and ensuring social security.

In addition, the First Deputy Head of the CPP Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Commission was also particularly impressed with Vietnam's poverty reduction achievements. The Communist Party of Vietnam has led the country to achieve a poverty reduction rate of about 1%-1.5% per year.

At this rate, Vietnam is close to completely eliminating poverty, with only a small proportion of the population still in need of support. Vietnam has also achieved the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and is moving towards the Sustainable Development Goals. This is also an outstanding achievement of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
