Exciting training atmosphere on the football field of the members of Sao Vang Club. |
Unlike other sports such as Table Tennis, Soccer, Volleyball, etc., Basketball is relatively new to children in Thai Nguyen province. With the desire to bring children closer to basketball, since 2023, Sao Vang Club was established. In the summer of 2025, the Club attracted nearly 100 children from 5 to 18 years old to participate in summer school.
At 5:30 p.m., when the afternoon sun had lessened, the yard of Doi Can 2 Primary School, Phan Dinh Phung Ward, echoed with the shouts of “One, two, one, two…” from the members of the Sao Vang Club. The students lined up in a circle, dressed in athletic attire, enthusiastically warming up, ready for an energetic class.
As one of the youngest students, 6-year-old Pham Ngoc Son from Linh Son Ward said: I have been learning basketball since the beginning of the summer. What I like best is when I can throw the ball into the basket.
The club was born from the passion of young people who love basketball and have been involved in this sport for many years. Thanks to that, the members of the club understand the psychology of young children, build lesson plans suitable for each age and the needs of the students.
Young children will practice playing with the ball, combining physical activities to train their physical strength and increase their concentration. High school students will practice many specialized movements, practice dexterity, flexibility and competition tactics.
Mr. Vu Duy An, Chairman of Sao Vang Club, shared: Playing basketball not only helps children improve their health and increase their height, but also helps them develop teamwork, discipline and concentration. In the future, we really hope to have more sports tournaments with basketball to spread this sport to more people.
To improve the quality and select students with good talents and qualities, Sao Vang Club also regularly organizes friendly matches and gives small rewards to encourage students who are diligent and make efforts. Through the Club, many students have participated in provincial sports tournaments and achieved high results.
Ms. Tran Thi Duong, mother of Vu Duy An, said: I let both my children learn basketball at Sao Vang Club. At first, it was just a trial class, but everyone really liked it. After a while, I saw that my children were more active, had better concentration, and their health had improved significantly. I think that summer sports and talent classes are very necessary.
Summer afternoons no longer pass quietly but are bustling with the sound of bouncing balls and children's laughter. Basketball, with its own appeal, is bringing children a dynamic, connected and mature summer every day. Also in that positive atmosphere, in many localities in the province, many classes filled with joy are taking place...
Not as exciting as basketball lessons, but the weekend drawing class of teacher Ly Thi Phuong Thao in Bac Kan ward attracts many children because of the mystery of the colors. This is one of more than 10 gifted classes opened during the summer in the central northern region of the province.
Drawing class - where children can unleash their creativity and nurture their love of painting. |
No need for blackboards or chalks, just with pencils, crayons and blank paper, children can draw dreams and simple but emotional stories. Each lesson not only helps train skillful hands and delicate eyes but also nurtures the pure and innocent souls of childhood.
In a gentle, friendly space, 27 children, from 6 to 13 years old, are diligently drawing, creating colors according to their own perspectives. While diligently coloring a still life painting, Dam Minh Anh, 9 years old, from Duc Xuan ward, excitedly said: This is my second year attending art classes in the summer. I like to color and draw pictures of dreams, nature, and landscapes.
In class, children are introduced to basic painting techniques such as drawing, drawing lines, mixing colors... And especially, there are lessons where the "painting brushes" are familiar materials such as: pieces of carrots, bitter melon or pieces of sweet potatoes... Using vegetables to print colors and create shapes not only brings excitement but also stimulates unique creativity in children.
From their clumsy brush strokes, the children have drawn a colorful world . It could be a vast ocean scene, a small house by the stream, or the dream of becoming an artist… Learning to draw in the summer helps children relax after a year of studying and sows the seeds of love for art in their childhood souls.
During the summer, instead of letting time pass by with electronic devices or uncontrolled activities, many parents have chosen to give their children gifted and sports classes. Summer 2025 is gradually coming to an end, but the memorable experiences from the interesting classes will remain forever, becoming beautiful luggage in the journey of adulthood of each child.
