Many candidates 'fakely passed' but failed all their wishes

Speaking with Tien Phong newspaper, candidate Le Hoai An (living in Hue City) said he scored 26.38 points and was admitted with the C00 combination.

When the schools announced the admission scores, An calculated that he failed his first three choices and passed his fourth choice to enter the University of Education (Hanoi National University). However, according to the admission results initially announced by the Ministry of Education and Training , the male student passed his third choice to study Educational Psychology at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

However, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education later confirmed that An was not admitted to the school. At that time, the male student was sure that he had passed his fourth choice, the University of Education (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) because he had 0.5 points left, but when the school announced the list of successful candidates, An was confused because his name was not on it.

Contacting the University of Education (Hanoi National University), An was informed by the school that they had received information that An passed the third choice to enter Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, so the virtual filtering system rejected the remaining choices.

“In the end, I was told that all my wishes were rejected. I was very worried and submitted an application to the University of Education (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) to review my case. I don’t know where my future will go,” Hoai An expressed.

Many candidates also encountered similar situations and were extremely confused. Because, once they were admitted to one wish, the following wishes would no longer be considered, so these candidates failed all their wishes.

On August 26, a representative of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education said that the unit had sent a dispatch to the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) and many universities regarding the handling of candidates' requests to adjust their admission wishes.

According to this document, on August 22, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education announced the admission threshold scores for regular university programs according to each admission method in 2025 on the school's electronic information portal.

After announcing the admission scores, the school reviewed the official admission list and found that there were cases where candidates did not meet the admission scores but were on the admission list and vice versa. At this point, the virtual filtering work of the Ministry of Education and Training had been completed, so candidates could not be considered for the next wishes.

Considering that this was a technical error and to ensure maximum benefits for candidates, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has sent an official dispatch requesting the Ministry of Education and Training to create conditions for candidates to continue the admission process and requesting support from relevant universities.
"Parents and candidates will be properly resolved to ensure their legitimate rights," informed Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.
