Valedictorian shares his learning experience with Canh Dieu textbooks: Easy to understand, easy to remember

Sharing with reporters of Vietnam Education Electronic Magazine, Nguyen Tu Quyet - a student of class 12A9, Nguyen Gia Thieu High School (Long Bien, Hanoi), one of the 8 valedictorians nationwide who achieved a perfect score of 30/30 in block A00 in this year's high school graduation exam, had heartfelt comments about the Canh Dieu textbook series that he has been studying for 3 years in high school.

According to Quyet's assessment, the Canh Dieu book series helps learners approach knowledge in a gentle, effective and in-depth way. In particular, the knowledge in the book is compiled very closely to the orientation of the 2018 General Education Program when not only imparting knowledge but also helping students develop thinking ability, self-study skills and practical application ability.

For Mathematics - a subject that requires logical thinking and high precision, Quyet assessed that the book series has done a very good job of organizing knowledge in a seamless system, from basic to advanced. The knowledge in the book is not fragmented or patchy but has a clear continuity from lower to higher grades, helping students easily consolidate their foundation and gradually develop problem-solving skills.

“One thing I really like is that the book has been appropriately reduced, eliminating unnecessary heavy content, but still retaining the core. Thanks to that, studying becomes easier while still ensuring effectiveness,” the male student shared.

Not only in Math, Nguyen Tu Quyet also gave many compliments to the Literature textbook of the Canh Dieu series. According to him, the Literature textbook is designed with a clear and reasonable layout, not simply providing materials for students to memorize, but aiming to help learners deeply understand the nature and grasp the characteristics of each literary genre.

Specifically, in each lesson, the book clearly states the requirements to be achieved in a specific and easy-to-understand manner. This helps students identify the focus of knowledge, thereby being more proactive in the process of receiving and applying. Instead of mechanically memorizing paragraphs and verses, students are guided to identify genre characteristics, analyze structures and expressive techniques, thereby being able to flexibly apply skills to many different materials.

Compared to previous books, Quyet commented that the Literature books of the Canh Dieu series have clearly innovated by adding more lessons on speaking and writing practice. Thanks to that, students have more opportunities to express their personal opinions, practice critical thinking and develop creative writing skills.

Not to mention the topics are not restrictive but expand the creative space, encourage students to express their emotions, relate to reality and show their own personality in each article.

In addition, the book also uses many vivid illustrations, author portraits and the context of the work's creation, helping students easily visualize the lesson content, thereby stimulating imagination and inspiring discovery .

Sharing the same opinion, Dao Phuong Anh - valedictorian of block C00 of Van Tao High School (Thuong Tin, Hanoi ) also highly appreciated the Canh Dieu textbook series, especially in its ability to develop students' thinking and active learning abilities through a modern, systematic and highly logical design structure.

According to Phuong Anh, Canh Dieu is not only a book series that conveys knowledge, but also a powerful support tool in forming and training comprehensive qualities and skills as proposed by the 2018 General Education Program.

Notably, History, a subject often considered "dry" and difficult to approach, has been effectively renewed by the Canh Dieu series. Instead of presenting it in a linear timeline like the old books, the History textbooks in the Canh Dieu series are designed in an open way, organizing lessons according to topics and learning topics. In addition, Phuong Anh also highly appreciated the system of questions in the book, which are concise, clear and focused, helping students easily remember and systematize knowledge after each lesson. Instead of feeling burdened by having to remember too many events, students can approach History as a big story with vivid, familiar and highly applicable slices.

“Instead of just memorizing facts or numbers, I am encouraged to explore the causes, consequences and significance of each historical issue. The way the book suggests many directions of study for learners through questions or small activities helps learning History to no longer be rigid but become very flexible.

Studying is therefore easier, easier to absorb and makes me enjoy this subject much more than before," the female student shared.
