In 2000, Mr. Pham Duc Hoc (from Bac Ninh ) and his wife went to Dong Ha village (Tan Lap commune, now Dam Ha commune) to develop the garden - pond - barn model. With quickness and hard work, his family now has a comprehensive farm of more than 10 hectares, including 5 commercial fish ponds, selling over 10 tons of various types of fish each year, ornamental plants, construction trees, shade and forest hills. Mr. Hoc said: "From this farm, my family's life has improved day by day, with a spacious house and a car. My family's income is about 400-500 million VND each year."
Ms. Luu Thi Van (Binh Hai village, Dam Ha commune) chose to exploit the advantages of the coastal area to develop the profession of raising sea ducks for eggs. Ms. Van shared: The couple's initial business was very difficult, the house was makeshift. Up to now, after 6 years of starting the business, the family maintains the scale of raising 800-1,000 laying ducks, selling 500-600 eggs per day, with a current income of about 60-70 million VND/month. The family is planning to renovate the campus, build more rooms, and a miniature landscape to develop the service of picking up sea duck eggs, fishing, and searching for fish, etc.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tien (Tan Hoa village, Quang Tan commune) is one of the good farmers in the commune. For many years, developing the chicken farming model, Mr. Tien has a farm with a scale of more than 100,000 chickens per year, currently bringing in an income of about 400 million VND/year.
He said: In addition to my own experience, I regularly attend classes to popularize farming techniques organized by the locality. At the same time, I actively follow chicken farming groups online to learn and share experiences, thereby raising chickens more effectively.
Many farmers in Quang Ninh are cooperating with each other to develop together, such as Mr. Pham Viet Cao (An Loi village, Quang Tan commune). In 2009, he started implementing a commercial goat farming model. From the initial 12 parent goats, after many years, he has a goat farm of about 500 goats, bringing in an income of about 400 million VND/year. From this model, Mr. Cao boldly established the Minh Thanh Agricultural Production, Business and Service Cooperative, mobilizing other farmers to participate. The cooperative currently has 9 members, mainly households raising goats, pigs, chickens... In 2024, the cooperative's revenue will reach more than 1 billion VND.
Quang Ninh farmers are writing a journey to get rich, spreading the spirit of innovation and the desire to rise up in the community. Over the past 5 years, the province has had more than 81,100 farming households achieving the title of excellent production and business at all levels, with incomes ranging from hundreds of millions to billions of VND/year. Many farmers have boldly pioneered in implementing new models, applying science and technology, and actively transforming digitally. Thereby contributing to promoting the rural economy , building new rural areas, and gradually realizing the goal of building Quang Ninh countryside to be increasingly rich, prosperous, and modern.
