Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu - Editor-in-Chief of Van Hoa Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Award said that after the first two seasons, this year the award will change its name to "National Press Award for the Development of Vietnamese Culture". This name change comes from the fact that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism now has the additional task of managing the information and communication sector. If the old name is kept, the Award will not cover the full scope of the Ministry's new functions, and if the full name is added, the name will be too long.
"After consulting and receiving high consensus, the Ministry's leaders decided to change the name of the award to better suit the new situation. The new name is shorter but reflects the expanded stature and scale, covering all areas of social life," said Mr. Vu.
Another new point is that this year, the National Press Award for the Development of Vietnamese Culture is organized by 3 agencies, including: Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Central Propaganda and Education Commission, Vietnam Journalists Association .

Due to coinciding with many major events during the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2, the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the second season will be held on October 20, 2025. At the same time, the third season will continue to accept entries from now until July 31, 2025.
Mr. Phan Thanh Nam, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Culture Newspaper, said that this year's award aims to honor outstanding journalistic works that deeply and promptly reflect issues related to the development of culture, sports, tourism , information and family. Contest entries can be reflections, reports, investigations, documentaries, memoirs, discussions... that were first published from June 16, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
Key contents include: the implementation of the 13th National Congress Resolution and towards the 14th National Congress; the role of culture in socio-economic development; institutional work and cultural development policies; strategies for cultural industries; protection and promotion of heritage; reading culture; family education; digital transformation in culture and journalism; as well as the role of journalism in spreading the message of truth - goodness - beauty, building a healthy cultural environment even in cyberspace.
The organizers also create maximum conditions for journalists and reporters to participate: Electronic newspaper works only need to send the link via email; radio broadcasts only need to send the audio USB. In case the press agencies have merged or dissolved, the entries are not required to have confirmation from the governing body, as long as the original or link to the article is provided.
