Fully recognize the brand value of Trang An Heritage to preserve and develop sustainable tourism

On August 19, Ninh Binh province coordinated with the Interdisciplinary School of Arts - Hanoi National University and the UNESCO Office in Vietnam to organize an international scientific conference "Brand value of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex associated with heritage conservation policies and sustainable tourism development".

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Tran Song Tung, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, said: This workshop is of great significance in creating a forum for scientists , experts, managers, businesses and the community to share knowledge, experience and creative solutions in heritage management, conservation and exploitation.

This is not only an opportunity for Ninh Binh province to learn valuable lessons from domestic and international practices, but also an opportunity to spread the image, value and global brand of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex.

According to Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker, Head of UNESCO Representative Office in Vietnam, this is also a historic event when discussing and officially approving the Trang An Document - aiming to build a pioneering model of heritage protection associated with innovation and sustainable development at World Heritage sites.

Not simply a policy document, this is also a general call from the scientific community for a comprehensive approach to heritage area development - placing heritage at the center of the decision-making process, affirming that conservation and development are not two opposing values but two complementary pillars.

At the Workshop, delegates focused on discussing and contributing ideas to three sessions: The brand value of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex in the context of the specific development of the region and the world; Trang An Heritage - Global destination promoting sustainable cultural and tourism industry associated with the strategic orientation of the province; shaping the strategic vision for developing the Trang An brand towards the model of "Millennium Heritage City" - Connecting heritage conservation and sustainable development.
