Vietnamese in Hungary turn to their homeland's islands

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Thao met with overseas Vietnamese and members of the Truong Sa Hungary Club.

On April 8, at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Thao met with overseas Vietnamese and members of the Truong Sa Hungary Club (established in June 2023) to prepare for the trip of the Hungarian overseas Vietnamese delegation to visit Truong Sa and the rigs in 2024.

This is an annual visit organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Navy and is always well received by Vietnamese people in Hungary.

This year, two delegates representing the Vietnamese community in Hungary, Mr. Le Dinh Bau and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khoa, will attend the trip.

During the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Thao advised, shared, expressed her feelings and wished the delegation a successful visit, bringing back many memories and deep emotions about Truong Sa, increasing the firm belief in the sovereignty of the sea and islands, and attachment to the homeland, so that when returning to Hungary, she will introduce and have more meaningful actions, spreading the love for the homeland, the country, and the sea and islands to the Vietnamese people in Hungary.

Expressing their great honor and pride to represent the Vietnamese people in Hungary to join the delegation to Truong Sa this time, Mr. Le Dinh Bau, a former naval soldier in Khanh Hoa province, and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khoa thanked the Party and State for understanding, caring, and creating conditions for the Vietnamese people in Hungary to visit their homeland, exchange, and visit the soldiers and people of Truong Sa.

In particular, Mr. Bau was very moved to share that this was a precious opportunity for him to return to visit school, meet teachers, friends, comrades, and teammates, and review the years of studying, growing up, and serving in the Vietnam Navy.

At the meeting, the Embassy staff, overseas Vietnamese in Hungary and members of the Hungarian Truong Sa Club contributed 3,000 EUR to the program "The whole country for Truong Sa" and will transfer it back to the country through two local delegates participating in the trip.

Representing the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khoa pledged to fulfill the mission entrusted by the Ambassador and the people, which is to convey to the beloved Truong Sa people and soldiers the precious feelings and gifts, and material support from the Embassy staff and overseas Vietnamese in Hungary.

The meeting was also an opportunity for members of the Truong Sa Club - those who have participated in Truong Sa trips over the years, to share their feelings, memorable memories, happy moments of seeing the beloved islands and mountains, the beautiful rivers and mountains of the country, and to pass on their valuable feelings and experiences so that the members of the group can successfully complete the trip.
