From charity trips to the highland people to gifts for poor students, or moments of risking his life to save people in the midst of fierce floods, Mr. Do Quoc Phap has affirmed a kind heart and responsibility to society.
In 2020, when natural disasters struck Nam Tra My, Mr. Phap and his volunteer group arrived promptly, bringing practical gifts to people in the flood-hit areas.
In Tra Leng and Tra Nam, the delegation presented dozens of gifts worth nearly 100 million VND on behalf of the benefactors. In addition, the delegation continued to Dong Giang, Quang Tri to support households in remote areas.
“Gifts may be just necessities, but they are extremely valuable to the people in the highlands. More importantly, they are feelings and encouragement to help them be more steadfast in life. I just hope that my small contributions can help reduce their hardships,” Mr. Phap shared.
Not stopping at a few trips, from 2022 to now, Mr. Phap and his companions have organized about 16 charity trips in Nam Tra My, Dong Giang, Tay Giang... In addition to supporting food and necessities, he also mobilized scholarships, computers, and books for poor but studious students.
In particular, in 2022, he and the Danang IT Service Association initiated the program "Supporting students in mountainous areas to go to school" at Vo Chi Cong High School (Tay Giang district). The program donated more than 6,600 notebooks, 90 handheld computers, 50 sets of 10th grade textbooks and many other gifts, with a total value of more than 100 million VND.
This is a great source of encouragement, helping teachers and students in the highlands overcome hardship and continue their journey of teaching and learning.
Not only caring for poor children, Mr. Do Quoc Phap also regularly shares with lonely elderly people. In March 2025, he and a volunteer group visited the Hiep Duc District Nursing Home, gave necessities and talked to and encouraged the elderly.
Mr. Phap shared: “Helping someone in need is a joy, and also a way for me to live a more meaningful life. Seeing the elderly smiling, their eyes filled with happiness, I feel more deeply the value of the trips. That is the motivation for me to continue the journey of spreading love.”
Not stopping at charity trips, in January 2024, during a heavy flood, Mr. Phap bravely jumped into the raging water to save a person who had been swept away. Although he could not save the victim, his act of disregarding danger further highlighted the brave spirit and kind heart of a young person who devoted himself to the community.
According to Mr. Tran Vu Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nong Son commune, Mr. Do Quoc Phap is a typical face in the local volunteer movement.
“The image of a simple, compassionate and brave young person for others has spread positive energy, contributed to fostering faith and love in life, and become a beautiful example for youth union members and the community to follow,” said Mr. Ngoc.
