The wave of support for Palestine continues to spread in the entertainment world: model Jura Indexspring raised the Palestinian flag on the catwalk, while singer Madonna asked Pope Leo XIV to go to Gaza to save the children before it is too late.

According to Israel Hayom, model Jura Indexspring was invited to walk for the famous Finnish brand Marimekko's show at Copenhagen Fashion Week, but instead of wearing the entire outfit, she draped herself in a giant Palestinian flag that covered almost the entire design.

The flag bore the words "Act now against genocide." Not only was the act seen as a controversial protest, but the brand also felt it was damaging to their image and products.

Despite some cheers from pro-Palestinian spectators, Jura Indexspring was escorted out by security forces shortly after completing the first half of the catwalk.

She later posted on Instagram, without apologizing to the brand, stating: "We have no future without Palestine.

If you accept that Israel is starving all of Palestine now, you accept that the rich will decide which minority group will be the next victim of genocide" - but there is no mention of the October 7 event or the starving hostages in Gaza.

Known for their unique patterns and colors, Marimekko's products range from clothing, bags, accessories to furniture and homeware. The brand was founded in 1951 and currently has around 170 stores worldwide .

Madonna begs Pope Leo XIV to visit Gaza

Sheet BBC reported that in Hamilton (Canada), singer Madonna sent a direct appeal to Pope Leo XIV, hoping he would come to the Gaza Strip to "bring light to the children before it is too late", in the context of Israel continuing bloody attacks.

On social network X, Madonna wrote: “Holy Father, please come to Gaza and bring light to the children before it is too late.

As a mother, I cannot bear to see them suffer. The children of the world belong to all of us. You are the only one who has not been denied entry.

We need the humanitarian gates to be fully opened to save the children. There is no time left. Please say you will go. Love, Madonna.”

“ Politics cannot bring about change. Only consciousness can do that. So I turned to a man of God,” she stressed.

On the occasion of her son Rocco's birthday, Madonna said the most meaningful gift she could give him was to call on everyone to help save innocent children trapped in the crossfire in Gaza.

"I'm not criticizing or taking sides, because everyone is suffering. I'm just trying to do what I can to prevent children from starving to death," she said, calling for donations to humanitarian organizations like World Central Kitchen.

Since October 2023, Israel's military campaign has killed nearly 61,500 people in Gaza, pushing the land to the brink of famine.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
