Việt NamViệt Nam14/11/2023

With many years of experience in implementing livestock models such as: raising quail, chicken, pig, snake..., when starting to implement the New Zealand rabbit farming model according to the chain link, it has initially shown effectiveness. The model we want to mention is that of Mr. Nguyen Kim Trong, Lac Hung 2 quarter, Lac Tanh town, Tanh Linh district.

While feeding the pretty white rabbits a kind of wild grass that grows along the road but is their favorite and nutritious food, Mr. Trong smiled and said: My hometown is Quang Nam . In 1979, following the sacred call of the Fatherland, I enthusiastically joined the army and fought on the Cambodian battlefield. During the fierce fighting years here, I completed my mission excellently and was discharged in 1982; I got married in 1985; In 1990, the family decided to settle in Lac Hung 2 neighborhood, Lac Tanh town. With two empty hands, 2 young children, life at that time was very difficult, lacking everything. However, with the will and determination of Uncle Ho's soldiers, not giving in to difficulties and hardships, the couple thought, discussed, and assigned tasks to turn around the difficulties and hardships. Mr. Trong has successively implemented many livestock models such as raising pigs, raising chickens, raising quails and even raising snakes to develop the economy. Thanks to these models, the family's economy has gradually stabilized. In early 2022, from the revolving capital of 21 million VND from the Veterans Association of Lac Hung Quarter, Lac Tanh Town, Mr. Trong implemented a rabbit farming model according to the chain link. Initially, he raised 10 pairs of New Zealand rabbits. The rabbits gave birth to babies for him to continue raising. Each month, the mother rabbit gave birth to 6 baby rabbits. Thanks to his experience in livestock farming, he did not encounter any difficulties when implementing the chain link model. After nearly 2 years, he has sold 300 commercial rabbits, each weighing 2kg, at a price of 70,000 VND/kg. In addition, he also sold 100 baby rabbits to people and provided guidance on livestock farming techniques. Currently, the cage has 40 breeding rabbits, 160 commercial rabbits and many baby rabbits.

Mr. Kim Trong shared: New Zealand rabbits have many advantages such as the ability to grow, develop, reproduce a lot, high productivity, delicious meat and a maximum weight of up to 6kg/head. However, because of the chain, when the rabbits are 2kg, the cooperative will come to buy them. In addition, to help the rabbits grow and develop best, they must be regularly injected with medicine and sprayed with disinfectants, sprinkled with lime powder, and cleaned with cages weekly to limit disease.

With many years of experience in implementing livestock models with many different animal species, Mr. Trong has effectively utilized the waste products of livestock in a closed direction. Rabbit manure is used to raise earthworms and fertilize crops. Earthworms are used to feed chickens, fish, and hybrid wild boars. Thanks to that, although the family's livestock area is small, it ensures environmental hygiene. From the closed integrated livestock model, Mr. Kim Trong's family earns about 100 million VND each year. Thanks to this model, the family's economy is now stable. His two children have stable jobs. The eldest daughter has a job outside the province, the son is a high school teacher in the district.
