RT reported that the above comment by Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov was made before his meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on June 10.

Speaking to the Russia 24 news channel, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov said that Kiev's refusal to accept the bodies of Ukrainian soldiers on June 7 showed that Ukraine was not really ready for peace .
"I will say it frankly, it would be bad not to take the bodies," Ryzhenkov said, adding that Russia had shown its willingness to seek peace with the prisoner exchange and the decision to return the bodies of dead Ukrainian soldiers.
Foreign Minister Ryzhenkov accused Western countries that support Ukraine of being "the main instigators of this conflict, wanting the fighting to continue and trying to weaken Russia with the hands of Ukraine".
“The West does not feel sorry for Ukraine and does not feel sorry for the Ukrainian people,” he stressed.
Following an interview with Russia 24, Belarusian Foreign Minister Ryzhenkov met with his Russian counterpart Lavrov. During the meeting, the two ministers discussed further strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and Belarus, interaction with other countries through international organizations, as well as the situation in Ukraine.
Previously, during the direct negotiations in Istanbul (Türkiye) on June 2, Russia decided to unilaterally return the remains of more than 6,000 Ukrainian soldiers killed in action to Kiev. On June 7, the first bodies of 1,212 Ukrainian soldiers were transported by specialized trucks to the exchange area on the border between the two countries. However, the Ukrainian side did not appear at the exchange location.
