Holiday shopping for discounts, many items are up to 80% off

Many retailers have launched early promotions to stimulate shopping to celebrate National Day September 2 with discounts of up to 80% and many attractive gifts.

According to records on August 28, many people and tourists went shopping, especially to hunt for discounted goods and products for the September 2 holiday. Many businesses estimate that purchasing power will increase during this year's holiday, so they have prepared abundant supplies.

Supermarkets and shopping malls compete to reduce prices

On the morning of August 28, many people went to Ben Thanh metro station to shop, in which the fashion group was quite popular due to the discount of up to 80% on branded goods in the "City Sale" program. While choosing discounted items here, Ms. Trinh Thi Hien (HCMC) said that due to the long holiday and many promotional programs, her family chose to stay in the city to have fun and shop instead of traveling like every year.

At many shopping malls in Ho Chi Minh City such as Vincom, Van Hanh Mall... thousands of products are deeply discounted by businesses, the number of customers coming to shop is also quite bustling. Customers coming to shop at supermarkets are recorded to increase compared to normal days. In which, essential consumer goods, food, fashion... groups with deep promotions are often bustling.

Many supermarkets and shopping malls are also simultaneously launching attractive promotions. For example, at Winmart+, customers will receive a "Proud of Vietnam" gift box with a red flag with a yellow star, a WiNNiE fan, WiN stickers and familiar products in Vietnamese meals, lasting until September 5.

Bach Hoa Xanh also launched deep discount promotions, especially for beer, soft drinks, confectionery, and frozen foods. "We maintain both online and offline channels with 2,148 stores nationwide, prioritizing offline channels for customers to directly choose fresh foods," said a representative of this system.

In addition to deep discounts on thousands of essential products, during this holiday, Central Retail Vietnam launched three private label product groups including: Collection - "Independence - Freedom - Happiness" fashion collection, honoring the national spirit; GO! Viet Farm - fresh, quality-standard Vietnamese agricultural products and Viet Gems - regional specialties with OCOP certification of 3 stars or higher.

Supermarket chains such as MM Mega Market, Co.opmart, Emart, Lotte Mart... also offer discounts from
20-40% for thousands of products, mostly essential goods with the expectation of increasing purchasing power for fast-moving consumer goods, fresh goods...

Mr. Le Viet Cuong, Vincom's Southern region operations director, said the unit's 16 shopping malls in
Ho Chi Minh City will simultaneously apply promotional programs on the occasion of the September 2nd holiday, and at the same time increase operating hours from 30 minutes to 1 hour compared to normal to support people shopping.

"Compared to last year's holiday, this year the amount of promotional goods may increase by more than 20%, and the number of businesses participating in the promotion is also greater," said Mr. Cuong.

Family service "heats up"

The four-day September 2 holiday also led to a surge in demand for household services. A representative of the hourly housekeeping booking app bTaskee said that compared to normal days, the number of bookings for house cleaning services increased by 20%, babysitting increased by 18%, and patient care increased by 58%.

"Mostly young families, before traveling or returning to their hometowns, they all want their houses to be neat and tidy. Many offices and agencies also take the opportunity to do a general cleaning before the holiday," said a bTaskee representative, adding that they will launch the "TuHao80" promotion program with 8,000 discount codes for new customers with a message that evokes the spirit of solidarity: "Red blood, yellow skin, passionate patriotism".

Shopping malls also offer special promotions during the holidays and organize cultural programs to attract customers. Ms. Lam Thi Kim Trang, representative of Parc Mall, said that brands at this center will simultaneously reduce prices up to 50% during this year's holiday season, focusing on fashion, cosmetics and household goods.

"We expect the number of visitors to increase by 20-30% thanks to the long holiday and a series of entertainment activities for people who choose to stay in Ho Chi Minh City," said Ms. Trang. The highlight of the festival is a series of music and art performances taking place on the weekend from September 1 to October 10, combined with lantern space, Mid-Autumn fair and cultural experiences.

Meanwhile, Van Hanh Mall also launched a series of promotions and lucky draws for customers with bills of VND1 million or more. "In addition to shopping, we also organize experiential activities and decorate the shopping center with a festive atmosphere so that customers can feel comfortable and have fun," said Ms. Le Thuy Truc Ngu, marketing director of Van Hanh Mall.

Large supermarket chains such as Satra, Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Lootte, and WinMart also simultaneously "stimulated" consumption with promotional packages focusing on fresh food, house cleaning... to meet people's food storage and consumption needs during the long holiday.

"Underground Shopping" this Holiday Season

The "City Sale" program, lasting from August 28 to September 7, brings together more than 500 international and domestic brands with discounts of up to 80%. The program takes place at Ben Thanh Station and shopping centers Diamond Plaza, SC VivoCity, and Mega Mall Thao Dien, and will be a great shopping opportunity for people during the September 2 holiday.

Accordingly, a series of major brands such as Gucci, Burberry, Prada, Nike, Adidas, Casio, L'Oreal, Whoo, Ohui... simultaneously offer deep discounts of up to 80% with many attractive promotions. Especially, for the first time, the event of deploying underground shopping space at Ben Thanh metro station (metro line 1) was put into operation, directly connected to Vincom Mega Mall Thao Dien.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade said this year's program is expected to attract 30-50% more shoppers, while opening a new "shopping route" directly connecting Ben Thanh Market and the city's major commercial centers, contributing to affirming Ho Chi Minh City as an attractive destination for shopping for branded goods.

"Patriotic fashion" attracts young customers

Since mid-July, Canifa fashion brand has launched the collection "Patriotism from the cradle" with prices ranging from 169,000-299,000 VND/product, with incentives.
20-30% for group orders. Coolmate Fashion attracts young people with the "Freedom to Rise" T-shirt collection, inspired by peace , independence and the red color of the national flag.

Meanwhile, the group of young people under the brand Mach Lac put the "red addresses" of the autumn of 1945 such as Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi Opera House, the house at 48 Hang Ngang... on T-shirts, tote bags and keychains. "We choose items that are close to young people, so that each shirt or keychain becomes a "bridge of memories", bringing historical messages into everyday life" - Mr. Truong Thanh Nam, founder of Mach Lac, shared.

In addition, this year's market is also rich with patriotic souvenirs such as fans embroidered with the national flag, soldier dolls, thermos cups printed with cultural symbols... winning the hearts of consumers, especially young people.
