In the short film "Thien Kim lost" currently showing on social networks, artist Thanh Hang reunites with the audience in a role full of metaphor and depth: the character of Manh Ba - the person who cooks the soup of oblivion in the underworld, symbolizing the erasure of memories of previous lives so that people can start a new life.

Thanh Hang with a role of contemporary ideological depth

From a contemporary perspective, the work not only renews the folk image but is also a dialogue between tradition and modernity, past and future, individual and community.

"This role is good because it has contemporary ideological depth. Before erasing the memories of the scammers, Meng Po further investigated their criminal acts, specifically as in the episode just aired, the girls who are greedy for easy work, high salary, then fall into the circle of scams, the bitter ending is losing their own conscience and also harming innocent people.

I like roles that use old stories to tell modern stories. The more I play this role, the more I like it because I get to work with my younger sister, artist Thanh Ngoc, and other young, dynamic and creative actors" - Artist Thanh Hang shared.

Artist Thanh Hang’s character Manh Ba is no longer a distant image, but full of humanity – both strict and warm, both sacred and earthly. With heavy eyes and a deep voice that seems to touch every layer of emotion, artist Thanh Hang has brought a powerful Manh Ba, making it impossible for the audience to take their eyes off each frame.

Sharing about the role, artist Thanh Hang added: "I see Manh Ba as a gentle villain - no coercion, no punishment, but her existence is the harshest challenge: letting go."

For her, it is an opportunity to diversify her acting, exploit her experiences, and connect with her life thoughts after decades of working in the profession.

Thanh Hang maintains her passion

But behind that impressive transformation is a persistent traditional stream that artist Thanh Hang proudly preserves – the bloodline of passion for art passed down from her mother, artist Kim Hoa – a veteran name of the Southern reformed theater.

Since childhood, the four sisters grew up surrounded by the sounds of traditional music, vọng cổ, and the smell of makeup backstage. It was this environment that nurtured their love of art – and later, Thanh Hang, Thanh Ngan, Thanh Ngoc and Ngan Quynh all stepped into the spotlight, all passionate and striving to leave their mark on the public with their own unique personalities.

Artist Thanh Hang, with her gentle and determined acting, is considered the "big sister" and a spiritual support for her younger siblings.

People's Artist Thanh Ngan is one of the brightest cai luong singers, having won many major awards, and together with Artist Thanh Hang, has won many Mai Vang awards voted by readers of Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper.

Artist Thanh Ngoc is a character actress, with a soft and fresh acting style and can also transform into a comedy role, an old woman role… with many different roles. As for artist Ngan Quynh – after a period of working on stage, she has now ventured into cinema and television and left a strong impression on the audience in many good and unique roles.

Thanh Hang - the eldest sister of the family

Artist Thanh Hang said she does not try to be anyone. The same goes for her younger siblings, each in their own direction, in their own way of loving their profession, in their own way of preserving the fire of the stage and art. After the play "Wedding Dress in Front of the Temple Gate", all four sisters performed together on stage and were loved by the audience, and were nominated for the Mai Vang Award by readers of Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper . In the near future, there will be an opportunity for all four sisters to continue working together in a work of art.

"But perhaps what reassured my mother the most was that all four of us sisters chose our careers naturally, no one was forced.

Every time the whole family gathers and looks back at the journey we have gone through, I feel lucky to have an artist family - where every word of encouragement or advice comes from love and we share the same language of the stage." - Artist Thanh Hang said.

"I am the eldest sister, trying to preserve ethics and artistic traditions to set an example for my younger siblings" - artist Thanh Hang confided.
