Russian officials said more than 10 UAVs were shot down over the Moscow, Bryansk, Kaluga and Tula regions in the early hours of November 26.

“A large-scale drone attack was carried out. Air defense forces shot down UAVs in the Naro-Fominsk region and the city of Odintsovo, which were on their way to Moscow. Another UAV was shot down near Podolsk,” Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said in a statement on Telegram on November 26.

The UAVs did not cause any casualties or significant damage in Moscow, Mr. Sobyanin added. Emergency services are responding to the incident and locating the debris.

However, in the city of Tula, an intercepted UAV lost control and crashed into a high-rise building in a residential area, leaving one person slightly injured, according to local Governor Aleksey Dyumin.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that “an attempted terrorist attack was thwarted” overnight, confirming that at least 11 UAVs were intercepted in four regions southwest of Moscow.

Earlier this month, a Ukrainian general in charge of UAV operations announced that Kiev was preparing for a large-scale UAV offensive against Russia this winter, as the ground war is expected to lull due to harsh weather conditions.

On November 25, Ukraine accused Russia of carrying out the “largest ever” drone attack, with most of the targets located in the capital Kiev. The Ukrainian Air Force claimed to have intercepted more than 70 Russian drones in just one night.

Moscow has accused Kiev of "exaggerating" its achievements, as the number of weapons Kiev claimed to have shot down was greater than the number Russia actually launched.
