In the context of unfavorable weather and fluctuating consumption markets, Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) still achieved impressive production and business results, especially its contribution to the State budget with a total estimated payment of 16,600 billion VND in 7 months.

Overcoming difficulties, increasing production

According to TKV's report, under the close and drastic direction of the Group's leaders and the efforts of all officers and employees, TKV's main production and business targets in July and the first 7 months were basically completed as planned, despite the impact of storm No. 3 - Wipha, prolonged heavy rains and a sharp decrease in demand for electricity from thermal power due to EVN prioritizing hydropower.

Specifically, in July, the group produced 3.242 million tons of coal, reaching 100% of the plan; the accumulated 7-month output reached 24.1 million tons, equal to 103.4% over the same period. Coal consumption in July reached 2.86 million tons, bringing the accumulated 7-month consumption to 28.43 million tons. Of which, imported coal reached 7.72 million tons and exported 393 thousand tons, up 64.3% over the same period.

In the mineral sector, TKV has taken advantage of the opportunity when the selling price and market demand are still favorable. Alumina production in July reached 112 thousand tons, accumulated in 7 months reached 862 thousand tons, equal to 104.2% of the same period. Alumina consumption reached 865 thousand tons, equal to 104.4%. Copper concentrate production in 7 months reached 61.6 thousand tons, consumption reached 20.3 thousand tons, both reaching and exceeding the plan.

The Group's electricity output reached 788 million kWh in July, and the cumulative output reached 6.55 billion kWh, equal to 110% of the same period last year. The production of industrial explosives and chemicals such as explosives, Ammonium Nitrate, etc. also remained stable, meeting production requirements well.

Thanks to the synchronous implementation of flexible and effective management solutions, the total revenue of the Group in July is estimated at 12.73 trillion VND, bringing the accumulated revenue in the first 7 months to 101.41 trillion VND. Accumulated profit is estimated at 4,510 billion VND, completing 132.5% of the yearly plan.

In July alone, TKV paid an estimated VND2,000 billion to the State budget, bringing the accumulated amount in the first 7 months of the year to VND16,600 billion, clearly demonstrating its role as one of the key State economic units, actively contributing to the national budget.

Entering August 2025, the international economic and political situation is forecast to continue to be complicated, affecting domestic production. TKV aims to produce 2.9 million tons of coal, consume 2.94 million tons, produce 120 thousand tons of alumina and 651 million kWh of electricity. The Group's consolidated revenue is expected to reach VND 11.5 trillion.

To complete the set goals, TKV said it will continue to boost production, strengthen technical and technological management, strictly implement storm and flood prevention, ensure labor and environmental safety, thereby maintaining growth and sustainable development in the last months of 2025.
