People are the focus of development strategy

The difference of this 136 million USD project is not only in the impressive numbers. Coca-Cola affirms that people are the core factor in the long-term development strategy in Tay Ninh. The enterprise is committed to prioritizing job opportunities for the province's labor force, while implementing specialized training programs to improve skills and empower career development.

Coca-Cola implements many educational and internship programs, opening up development opportunities for young talents in Tay Ninh.

Among them are initiatives to nurture young talents in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) sector, such as the Coca-Cola StemX Internship Program. This program not only gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience in an international manufacturing environment, but also builds a high-quality workforce locally.

The impact of the factory also spreads to the surrounding economic ecosystem. The stable and large-scale operation of the new factory is expected to indirectly create thousands of jobs in supporting industries, from packaging supply, logistics services to technical maintenance, contributing to the creation of a strong and comprehensive economic network for the region.

From the beverage industry to supporting sustainable agriculture

Coca-Cola’s commitment to sustainability is evident in every detail of the plant. This is a food and beverage plant that has achieved LEED Gold green building certification – a strict international standard for environmentally friendly design and operation.

The plant is equipped with five modern production lines, not only optimizing capacity but also pioneering in minimizing environmental impact. Carbonated beverage products will use new packaging, reducing the amount of plastic per bottle by up to 38%. This initiative meets the trend of sustainable consumption, simplifies the supply chain and creates new business opportunities.

Ms. Milly Cheng, General Director of Coca-Cola Vietnam, said that sustainable orientation is the guiding principle for all activities of the new factory. This vision does not stop behind the factory gate but also extends to the surrounding community. A typical example is the EkoClimate program, an initiative to support farmers in adapting to climate change. In collaboration with Rize Vietnam and Ben & Archie, Coca-Cola successfully piloted in Binh Duc commune, Tay Ninh (Nhat Chanh commune, Ben Luc district, old Long An province), helping 42 farming households apply rotational irrigation techniques and control maximum residue on 50 hectares of rice. The results not only help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save 30% of production costs but also increase the value of agricultural products.

On the occasion of the factory inauguration, Coca-Cola also donated 500 million VND to Tay Ninh province to carry out educational and community development activities, once again affirming its long-term and comprehensive commitment to accompany the province's development.

After more than three decades of operations in Vietnam, the presence of the Coca-Cola plant in Tay Ninh is not simply a step forward in scale. It is also a testament to how international businesses can integrate into local development, where economic benefits go hand in hand with social and environmental responsibilities, creating sustainable and widespread values.
