Officers and soldiers of CSB 6003 ship brought the injured fishermen to CSB 6003 ship to provide initial first aid.
On the morning of August 5, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 said that on the evening of August 4, a patrol boat belonging to the unit promptly rescued a fisherman in distress while working at sea.
Specifically, at around 8:45 p.m. on August 4, while patrolling and checking in the Southwest sea, CSB 6003 ship of Squadron 401 (Command of Coast Guard Region 4) received a request for emergency medical assistance from Mr. Dang Van Vung, captain of fishing boat KG 94693 TS, residing in Rach Gia ward, An Giang province.
Mr. Vung announced that crew member Danh Van Bay (born in 1971), residing in Giong Rieng commune, An Giang province, had a work accident while exploiting seafood at sea and needed urgent medical assistance.
The medical team examined and bandaged the victim's wounds.
Upon receiving the news, CSB 6003 quickly maneuvered to approach fishing boat KG 94693 TS, brought the injured crew member to CSB 6003, and provided first aid to the victim.
Initial examination determined that victim Bay had a closed fracture of the left forearm. The CSB 6003 Medical Team bandaged, splinted the forearm, and provided painkillers.
After receiving medical assistance, the victim Danh Van Bay regained consciousness and his pain subsided. At 10:15 p.m. the same day, the victim was transferred to fishing boat KG 94693 TS for further care and brought back to shore for treatment.
