Strong foundation for infrastructure development in the new era

Saigon Marina International Financial Center, the new symbol of Ho Chi Minh City, is 55 stories high.

With the immortal spirit of the August Revolution, the whole country is making efforts to break through, move quickly, and be determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, realizing the 100-year strategic goal.

A series of key highways, large-scale important projects and works, many works of international stature, etc. were invested in, constructed and inaugurated on August 19, which is the foundation for strong development of infrastructure in the new era.

Synchronous strategic infrastructure development

Among the 250 projects and works that were started and inaugurated this time, there are many projects of particularly large scale, complex techniques, playing a very important role in socio -economic development, attracting strong participation from private enterprises. The total investment capital for the above projects and works is only about 37% of state capital, the remaining 63% is private investment capital. Investment capital is spread across all three regions, spanning all fields of socio-economy, science and technology, digital transformation, national security and defense, etc.

The central point of the event is the National Exhibition and Fair Center with a scale of 90 hectares, total investment of more than 7,000 billion VND, completed in just 10 months, promising to be a space contributing to promoting the development of the cultural industry and entertainment industry of Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that these key projects are of great significance, contributing to the development of synchronous and modern strategic infrastructure, creating new development spaces, making breakthroughs in economic and regional connectivity, increasing the competitiveness of goods and enterprises, etc. At the same time, they demonstrate the maturity, growth, self-reliance, self-reliance, and mastery of technology in the development of socio-economic infrastructure of the Vietnamese people.

From early morning, in Bat Trang commune (Hanoi), the groundbreaking site of Ngoc Hoi bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge, the atmosphere was bustling and exciting. Thousands of people in Hanoi and Hung Yen flocked to the groundbreaking site to witness this important moment. Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh said: After only four months of preparation, this Group A project has met the conditions to start construction, a record time, demonstrating the determination of the Party Committee, government and people of the capital; the will and aspiration of the capital to rise up along with the transformation of the whole country.

At the groundbreaking ceremony of Gia Binh International Airport (Bac Ninh), Mr. Trinh Van Thai, residing in Ngo Thon village, Gia Binh commune, was very excited. As one of 30 families awarded by the Ministry of Public Security and Bac Ninh province for their achievements in handing over the land, Mr. Thai said: My family understands the State's policies and guidelines and strongly supports the handover of all residential land and garden land as quickly as possible with the hope that the project will be implemented on schedule.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Tra, Deputy General Director of Masterise Group, one of the project implementing units, Gia Binh International Airport has had the participation of leading partners from the world and Vietnam right from the preparation stage. This is not simply a transport infrastructure project, but also a national symbol, a new starting point for far-reaching journeys.

On this occasion, Hai Phong city has three projects started and inaugurated connecting with the Government's bridge. The city has resolutely directed to start the resettlement project of Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong high-speed railway in Duong Kinh ward, with a total area of nearly 75,000 m2 (470 lots, accommodating about 1,880 people). Mr. Le Quang Tao, a resident of Duong Kinh ward, said that the local people are very supportive of the project, demonstrated through consensus, quick handover of the site and the desire for the government to soon stabilize people's lives; complete the project as soon as possible.

In Hoa Binh ward, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and Phu Tho province inaugurated Unit 1 of the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Extension. According to General Director of Lilama10 Joint Stock Company Nguyen Dinh Tinh, in the final stage of construction and installation of technological equipment, the company mobilized hundreds of engineers and skilled workers, working in three shifts, during holidays and Tet, to connect Unit 1 to the grid earlier than expected, affirming the capacity of the investor and the joint venture of contractors, contributing to the country's electricity supply tomorrow.

Motivation to spread and reach far

The resettlement project to serve the site clearance of the high-speed railway project on the north-south axis was started on the morning of August 19 in Dong Van ward (Ninh Binh). Although the investment capital is not too large, it has left many emotions in the hearts of local people. The high-speed railway route running through the ward is nearly 5km long, with a total land acquisition area of about 25.4 hectares. It is expected that the project will have about 66 resettlement plots, with a total investment of nearly 10 trillion VND from the provincial budget.

Chairman of Dong Van Ward People's Committee Dang Van Hong said that the people were very honored and proud, having urgently prepared the conditions for a thoughtful and safe groundbreaking ceremony. As one of the households whose land was recovered, Mr. Do Van Tinh, Dong Van Ward happily shared: My family, as well as other families, after being informed by the government, completely agreed and created favorable conditions for the State to implement the project.

In Nghe An province, according to the assessment of medical experts, Nghe An Oncology Hospital (Phase II) in Vinh Hung ward has been invested with modern equipment, helping to complete the closed cancer treatment cycle in the area, meeting the final requirements of technical expertise in medical examination and treatment in the North Central region. Not only improving the facilities and bed size, the project also enhances the scope of activities, expands the treatment areas, meets the requirements of specialized medical examination and treatment, and reduces the pressure on seriously ill patients to be transferred to higher levels.

On the morning of August 19, Saigon Marina IFC Tower (Saigon Marina International Financial Center) was officially inaugurated in Ho Chi Minh City. This 55-storey tower applies the TOD model (transport-centric development model), connecting directly to Ba Son station of metro line 1. The highlight of the tower is the LED system that can display artistic lighting.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Vice President of HDBank, assessed that the tower will be a "meeting place" for banks, financial institutions, technology and logistics corporations with more than 10,000 experts working daily. At the same time, it will be a place to test modern financial models, develop digital economy, green finance, and connect domestic capital flows with international markets.

The inauguration of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project connecting Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces on this occasion has fulfilled the long-awaited wish of the people. Arriving early in the morning, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Trang, residing in Kim Son commune, Dong Thap province, said: We have been waiting for the moment to travel on Rach Mieu 2 Bridge for a long time. Previously, there was Rach Mieu Bridge but the traffic volume was too large, causing constant traffic jams.

Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Tran Tri Quang assessed: Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is a key traffic project, of great significance to the socio-economic development of the province as well as the entire Mekong Delta. Dong Thap will promote its advantages, effectively exploit the project, serve the goal of socio-economic development, and build a rich, beautiful and civilized homeland.

On the morning of August 19, the countryside of Dat Mui (Ca Mau), the "last place on the map of Vietnam", was bustling like a festival when three large-scale key projects and works simultaneously started construction. Thousands of people from Dat Mui-Ca Mau gathered in Khai Long hamlet to witness the groundbreaking ceremony of major projects in their homeland.

“We, the people of the far south, have been waiting for these projects for a long time. When these projects are completed, Ca Mau will have more jobs, and our children will no longer have to leave their hometowns to work,” said Ho Doan Ket, a resident of Khai Long hamlet. In the sacred atmosphere of the historic August days, along with the whole country, Ca Mau continues to witness a new period full of opportunities, realizing the aspiration to reach out to the sea, and entering a new era with the whole country.
