Youth union members and school youth participate in volunteer activities.

Last school year, in the context of restructuring and streamlining the apparatus, the School Youth Union currently has more than 3.7 million members (accounting for approximately 60% of the country), operating in more than 151,000 branches with four main subjects: high school, university-academy, young teachers-lecturers, and vocational education .

According to reports at the Conference, last school year, school-level Youth Union chapters across the country organized more than 3,500 contests, seminars, and discussions to learn about Marxism-Leninism, attracting more than 1.4 million union members and young people to participate; and held more than 9,300 conferences to study, propagate, and disseminate the Resolutions of the Party Congress and the Youth Union Congresses at all levels with the participation of nearly three million union members, students, and pupils.

Revolutionary action movements continue to be the spearhead of the Youth Union and school youth movements in 2024-2025. In the "Youth Volunteer" movement, a total of more than 2.4 million students have participated in at least five volunteer activities.

The "Creative Youth" movement in the 2024-2025 school year recorded nearly 28,000 scientific research topics, creative products at the school level, more than 3,200 provincial-level topics, more than 330 national-level topics implemented; deployed nearly three thousand activities to support creative startups, nearly three thousand activities to honor outstanding students in studying and scientific research...

Assessment at the Conference showed that all Youth Union units in schools across the country have completed 12/14 targets set for the 2024-2025 school year.

Some targets far exceeded the plan, such as: more than one million youths participated in activities to support the improvement of foreign language skills and international integration (exceeding 146%); supporting the international publication of 51 scientific research projects of students (exceeding 170%); supporting and realizing 176 innovative start-up projects of school youth union members (exceeding 176%); admitting more than 17,000 outstanding union members into the Party (exceeding 146%)...

The conference set out three key tasks with 14 specific targets for the work of the Youth Union and the school youth movement in the 2025-2026 school year.

Notably, there are targets: six million youth union members participating in volunteer activities; planting ten million new trees; mobilizing at least 150 billion VND to support scholarships for students; providing career counseling for 1.3 million youths, of whom 400,000 youths are introduced to jobs; introducing at least 100,000 outstanding union members for the Party to consider admitting.

In his closing speech at the Conference, Secretary of the Central Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Student Association Nguyen Minh Triet requested that the Youth Union and Student Association at all levels proactively grasp public opinion, thoughts and aspirations of young people, especially in schools; and undertake tasks and emulation projects to celebrate important events of the country.

In addition, it is necessary to effectively promote revolutionary action movements; focus specifically on programs accompanying young people; concentrate on implementing tasks so that Vietnamese students are "excellent in intelligence, superior in physical strength, and rich in cultural identity"; consolidate and improve the quality of the Youth Union organization in accordance with the two-level local government model.
