The US Department of Justice announced on November 20 that it had indicted and issued an arrest warrant for Indian billionaire Gautam Adani, Asia's second richest man, on charges of conspiracy to commit bribery.

New York City prosecutors said that Mr. Adani and seven other senior business leaders planned to bribe more than $250 million to Indian government officials to get solar power project contracts.
US authorities have also accused the Indian billionaire of defrauding investors to raise capital. Reuters reported that a New York judge on November 20 issued arrest warrants for Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar Adani. The Adani Group, founded by Gautam Adani, said the US allegations were baseless and that it would take legal action.
