Some notes on pension authorization under the new law

Pensioners need to note some changes in authorization to receive pensions and social insurance benefits when the revised Law on Social Insurance 2024 takes effect.

Recipients of pensions and social insurance benefits register to receive them through personal accounts.

In order for the monthly payment of pensions and social insurance benefits to continue to take place smoothly, ensuring the smooth operation of beneficiaries' rights when operating two-level local governments and in accordance with the provisions of the amended Law on Social Insurance 2024 effective from July 1, 2025, beneficiaries need to note some changes in the authorization to receive pensions and social insurance benefits as follows:

Regarding authorization to receive pensions and social insurance benefits: In case of authorization to receive pensions, social insurance benefits and other regimes, the authorization document is valid for a maximum of 12 months from the date of establishment of authorization; the authorization document must be certified in accordance with the provisions of law on certification.

For authorization papers established in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 58/2014/QH13 (Social Insurance Law 2014), they shall be implemented until June 30, 2025. After July 1, 2025, beneficiaries must re-establish the authorization or carry out the certification procedures in accordance with the regulations in a timely manner to avoid interruption in receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits.

Annually, beneficiaries of social insurance benefits through personal accounts opened at banks are responsible for coordinating with social insurance agencies or service organizations authorized by social insurance agencies to verify information on eligibility for social insurance benefits according to regulations.
