After a good night's sleep, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khiem (born in 1949, 4/4 war invalid - residing in Dai Hoa village, Yen Hoa commune) and delegates gathered at the yard of the Provincial Center for Nursing for Meritorious People and Social Protection (center) to start a new day.

Completely different from the quiet daily life at home, the days of concentrated nursing here for Mr. Khiem are a time of true care and attention.
After a light exercise, a delicious, nutritious breakfast was served. At 8am, Mr. Khiem and everyone else moved to the rehabilitation and exercise area, where medical staff were ready with therapeutic equipment and herbs.

Relaxing moments to help wounded and sick soldiers.
“After 30 minutes of herbal foot bath, 15 minutes of herbal steam bath, then massage and acupressure, I felt my body relaxed, my mind relaxed, I ate well and slept much better. At home, I don’t have the conditions to take such good care of myself,” Mr. Khiem happily shared.
For Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam (born in 1953, 2/4 war invalid - residing in Chua village, Thien Cam commune), this is the third time she has come to the center for treatment. Each time she comes, she clearly feels the positive changes as the rooms and dining room are increasingly clean and comfortable, the living space is spacious, reasonably arranged, and there are regular cleaning staff. There are three meals a day, of which the two main meals have many dishes that change daily, are fresh, nutritious, and suitable for the elderly's taste.
Ms. Tam shared: “We just need to eat, rest, and practice. The center’s staff will take care of everything. It really warms our hearts that after years of dedicating our youth and a part of our blood and bones on the battlefield, we are remembered and appreciated like today.”

During the 6 days of convalescence, in addition to health check-ups, dispensing medicine according to the disease, and providing care according to the treatment regimen, the staff also organized many diverse activities such as: cultural and sports exchanges, swimming, watching movies and reading newspapers and magazines; organizing tours to red addresses in other provinces... All aimed at one goal: providing comprehensive physical and mental care for the meritorious people.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huong - Deputy Head of Management, Care and Nurturing Department said: "Most of the people coming to the nursing home are old, weak, and have many injuries and illnesses. Their psychology is also sensitive and vulnerable, so the staff of the center not only cares with responsibility but also with love, care, thoughtfulness and respect. We always try to create the most comfortable environment for the patients during their nursing days here."
After each treatment, the delegates also received a gift worth about 2 million VND (including cash and gifts) according to the policy. But perhaps the bigger gift they received was the peace of mind, the feeling of being recognized and appreciated by all levels of the industry and society.

Mr. Pham Khanh Muoi - Deputy Director of the Information Center: “Since the beginning of the year, the unit has welcomed 10 delegations with nearly 2,000 delegates of meritorious people to receive care. In July alone - the peak month of gratitude, there were 3 delegations with 366 people. We always keep in mind that taking care of meritorious people is not only a responsibility but also a gratitude. The satisfaction of the doctors is the motivation for us to serve better every day”.
The days spent at the Provincial Nursing Center for the Meritorious and Social Protection, for the wounded and sick soldiers, were not simply a time to rest and recover their health, but also proof that they would never be forgotten.
