According to Engadget , the gaming industry is spreading a new rumor that Microsoft is developing a white version of the Xbox Series X without a disc drive, which will likely be released in the near future.
According to leaked images posted by Exputer and documents collected by The Verge, the design of this new Xbox Series X version is almost identical to the current black version, except that it does not have a physical drive. In addition, the surface of the device is also applied with a 'robot white' paint similar to the white version of the Xbox Series S game console.
If this information is accurate, Microsoft may delay the launch of the Xbox Series X upgrade with the new design.

This isn’t the first time rumors of a white, disc-less Xbox Series X have surfaced. Last month, Exputer reported that Microsoft was planning to launch the console sometime between June and July this year, with a price tag that would be $50-$100 less than the current Xbox Series X.
Previously, a major leak last year said that Microsoft was developing a disc-less Xbox Series X with a completely new cylindrical design, expected to launch in November 2024 for $500. This device, codenamed Brooklin, is rumored to have many modern features such as Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C port, 6nm processor, power saving and use of more recycled materials.
However, Xbox chief Phil Spencer has denied some of the information in the leak, saying it was based on initial plans and could have changed.
