If that happens, Rashford will be playing alongside Lamine Yamal, something the 27-year-old will surely be excited about.

In a video with Spanish YouTube channel xBuyer in Marbella, Rashford was asked about the prospect of one day calling the 17-year-old a team-mate.

"Okay. Everyone in the world wants to play with the best players. So hopefully we'll see...", Marcus Rashford expressed.

The England striker also praised the talent of Lamine Yamal, who contributed 25 goals and 34 assists for Barcelona at the age of 17.

"He's playing at the highest level, I don't think we've seen that at 16, 17. Yamal has special skills and he's going to continue to improve a lot," Rashford declared.

If Rashford moves to Barcelona, ​​he will not have to compete with Yamal for a starting spot, as the 17-year-old plays on the right wing. Instead, Rashford will likely compete with Raphinha for a starting spot on the left.

Replacing Raphinha will not be an easy task, especially as the Brazilian scored an impressive 34 goals and 25 assists in 57 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona during the 2024-25 season.

Rashford may not only have to compete with Raphinha, as multiple sources claim Barcelona have agreed personal terms with Athletic Bilbao striker Nico Williams, who is also a left winger and a close friend of Yamal.

With Barcelona close to having enough left wingers, Rashford's dream move could be over. However, Rashford has revealed that he prefers to play as a centre-forward rather than his preferred left-winger position.

"For me, as I get older, the No. 9 position becomes more comfortable, more natural. Things like playing with your back to goal are becoming easier for me, you're always in front of goal and always dangerous," Rashford emphasized.

Rashford hopes his form on loan at Aston Villa will convince other clubs to sign him. The 27-year-old joined Villa on a six-month loan in January and was initially deployed as a left winger by Unai Emery.
