Revealing the 'links' transporting 179kg of synthetic drugs through Noi Bai airport

Hanoi City Police said that through the work of grasping the local situation, Team 5 - Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, in coordination with the Drug Control and Prevention Team (Hanoi City Customs Department) suddenly conducted a key inspection of a number of shipments from Germany to Vietnam.

During the inspection, the authorities discovered a shipment of goods transported from Germany to Vietnam, including packages suspected of containing drugs. The suspected drug shipment was divided and transported to many addresses in Hanoi, Hai Phong , etc.

However, upon verification, the receiving addresses were all fake. Immediately afterwards, using professional measures, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department mobilized officers and soldiers, divided them into 3 working groups, and traced all recipients in Vietnam.

450 boxes of "apple juice" found with hidden drugs

After many days of mobilizing forces to conduct screening and verification, at around 3:00 p.m. on June 4, at area number 5 Phu Minh Street (Phuc Dien, Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi), the authorities arrested Nguyen Ho Hung (born in 1994, in Nghe An ) and Ha Van Khuong (born in 1994, in Tuyen Quang) for illegally transporting drugs.

The seized evidence included 60 boxes containing 1,440 metal boxes of “apple juice”. Upon inspection, 450 boxes were found to contain drugs, each box contained a plastic bag containing gray tablets. Preliminary examination determined that the tablets were synthetic drugs in the form of ecstasy, with a total weight of nearly 179kg

During the investigation, Nguyen Ho Hung confessed that he was transporting the drugs for hire for a person he knew on social media. Hung said this was the third time he had been hired to transport the drugs.

According to the testimony, on the previous two occasions, in March and April 2024, Hung transported and was paid 21 and 24 million VND, respectively. Meanwhile, Ha Van Khuong confessed that he was hired by a subject to supervise the delivery of drugs for Nguyen Ho Hung.

Expanding the investigation, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department continued to arrest Dinh Viet Thang (born 1996, in Nam Dinh) and Nguyen Khac Ngoc (born 1984, in Hai Phong). These are 2 consumers in the above-mentioned ring.

The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Hanoi City Police) is focusing on consolidating documents and evidence to clarify the criminal acts of Nguyen Ho Hung, Ha Van Khuong, Nguyen Khac Ngoc, Dinh Viet Thang and expanding the investigation, organizing the arrest of other related subjects.
