The event brought together representatives of central and local agencies, manufacturing enterprises, cooperatives, business households, along with many digital technology enterprises and large domestic e-commerce platforms.
Promoting linkages - expanding the regional e-commerce ecosystem
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Huynh Xuan Son - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang City affirmed: E-commerce is one of the city's strategic breakthroughs in developing the digital economy. With its central location in the Central Highlands and the advantage after merging administrative boundaries with Quang Nam province, Da Nang is now a city of more than 3 million people, with a diverse market structure and rich product potential.
Up to now, Da Nang City has had more than 552 OCOP products, hundreds of typical rural industrial products, regional specialties... which are a solid foundation for the city to access domestic and international e-commerce platforms.
From 2023 to present, the city has implemented many e-commerce development activities, such as: building Da Nang e-commerce platforms, online shopping maps, digital transformation training for more than 3,000 businesses and small traders, organizing livestream sessions to sell OCOP products on Facebook, TikTok, implementing the "Market 4.0" model, cashless streets... These solutions help spread the habit of applying digital tools to traditional retail areas.
However, Mr. Son said that e-commerce activities in the locality still face many barriers, such as: limited equipment and digital skills in micro-enterprises and small traders; fragmented e-commerce access, depending on intermediary platforms; digital gap between urban and rural areas; and online commercial fraud affecting consumer confidence.
Regarding solutions in the coming time, Da Nang will focus on three main groups: completing multi-platform digital infrastructure, promoting digital transformation training (AI application, QR, livestream sales...), developing the "digital market" model, supporting businesses to participate in multi-channel and cross-border e-commerce, especially bringing local products into the global value chain.
“We hope that large e-commerce platforms and technology platforms will work more closely with the locality, enhancing connections and promoting products of businesses, cooperatives and small traders in Da Nang. At the same time, we will support access to essential digital tools such as sales software, electronic invoices, CRM, consumer behavior analysis and appropriate logistics,” Mr. Son emphasized.
Bringing regional specialties to the world with digital technology
The conference is an important part of the series of activities of the Digital Trade and Regional Connectivity Week 2025 - a large-scale event focusing on three contents: promoting regional connectivity in e-commerce, digital transformation for traditional market traders and promoting cashless payments.
The week is expected to attract thousands of visitors and visitors to Da Nang City, with many outstanding activities: In-depth training on e-commerce for businesses, cooperatives, and small traders on building and operating booths on Shopee Live, TikTok Shop; Livestream promoting regional specialties, with the participation of KOLs/KOCs representing the three regions; Cashless market, gathering more than 60 OCOP booths of Da Nang and other provinces, along with 20 technology booths introducing digital transformation and logistics solutions.
In particular, at the event, the Digital Transformation Community for traditional market traders will be officially launched, aiming to support connection, share experiences and improve skills in applying technology in business.
According to a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in the past two years, regional e-commerce linkage programs have been implemented in many areas across the country, attracting more than 1,500 officials, businesses, and small traders to participate in direct and online training. Tens of thousands of local specialty products have been supported to be put on platforms such as Shopee, TikTok Shop, and San Viet - a platform linking large and local e-commerce platforms.
Initial results show clear effectiveness in improving digital capacity, expanding the market for OCOP products and regional specialties, contributing to realizing the goal of developing e-commerce in a modern, sustainable, comprehensive direction with the ability to integrate internationally.
