To reach the semi-finals, the Vietnamese women's team must win one of the top two positions. This is a task within the reach of coach Mai Duc Chung and his team thanks to home field advantage and experience accumulated in international tournaments. At the AFF Cup 2022, the Vietnamese women's team won all 4 group stage matches. However, in the semi-finals, Huynh Nhu and her teammates lost 0-4 to the Philippines. Coach Mai Duc Chung finalizes the squad for AFF Cup 2025

On the afternoon of August 4, the coaching staff of the Vietnamese women's team finalized the list of 23 members participating in the AFF Cup 2025.

Notable in this list is the return of midfielder Nguyen Thi Thanh Nha, after a period of absence due to injury, promising to strengthen the flank of the Vietnamese women's team.

Coach Mai Duc Chung and his colleagues also continued to trust and give opportunities to many promising young faces such as Nguyen Thi Truc Huong and Tran Thi Thu Xuan (Than Khoang San Viet Nam), bringing a new breeze to the team in the journey to conquer the regional arena. Female center-back Le Thi Bao Tram could not stay on the final list, when the Vietnamese women's team still had more experienced and brave elements in the defense.
