The National Day celebration on September 2nd had the participation of overseas Vietnamese and military representatives from 4 invited countries.

There will be overseas Vietnamese returning from other countries participating in the parade and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on the morning of September 2. This is the first time in 80 years that overseas Vietnamese have participated in this national celebration.

The information was announced by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang at a press conference on the afternoon of August 22 in Hanoi. The press conference was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh.

According to the organizers, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 is a particularly important political event on a national scale.

The event was organized by the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Hanoi city.

In particular, the national celebration, parade, and march program will be held at 6:30 a.m. on September 2 at Ba Dinh Square (live on Vietnam Television and local stations, social media platforms, etc.).

At the press conference, delegates representing the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism informed about the celebration, parade and march that are receiving great attention from people across the country.

4 countries join foreign military bloc to parade to celebrate National Day

Major General Tong Van Thanh - Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - said that as of August 22, there were 6 forces participating in the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2.

These are the traditional torch-carrying force; ceremonial artillery; air force; parade force (4 ceremonial blocks, 43 blocks representing the People's Armed Forces).

Foreign military bloc, we invited four countries, currently all four countries have accepted the invitation to participate. Three countries have sent forces to Vietnam including: Russia, Laos, Cambodia and participated in the overall training on the evening of August 21. The Chinese force will arrive at the end of August.

Next are military vehicles, special police vehicles, marine parade forces, and 13 mass parade blocks.

The fifth force is the background force, including the honor guard and 29 blocks, including 18 armed force blocks and 11 mass blocks (newly added on August 21), including 4,600 people forming the national flag and slogans.

The 80th National Day celebration program includes: traditional torch procession, ceremonial fireworks, air force salute, military parade, and block parade.

The training process of the forces is carried out seriously, according to the prepared training program. Up to now, there have been 5 comprehensive training sessions (4 times at National Military Training Center No. 4, 1 time at Ba Dinh Square).

Overall, all participating forces completed the plan as planned, the quality, spirit and attitude of the forces were very good.

"The leaders of the blocs asked me to convey their thanks. Thanks to the encouragement of the people in general and journalists in particular, the forces participating in the parade were given more strength to strive, train their spirit, and have very good health to complete the upcoming tasks," Major General Tong Van Thanh shared.

Overseas Vietnamese make great contributions in terms of material, spirit and blood.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said that on this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with a number of relevant agencies and localities to organize events for international friends.

Because the August Revolution and National Day September 2nd not only have great significance for the Vietnamese people but also have great significance for progressive people around the world.

We invited delegations from Cuba, Cambodia, Laos, Belarus, Russia and China. To date, Vietnam has received confirmation of participation from more than 20 delegations representing political parties of various countries and 8 delegations representing defense forces of various countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also invited a number of international reporters who have sympathy and interest in Vietnam to attend this event. This is an opportunity for foreign reporters to witness firsthand the achievements of our country.

In particular, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also organized a delegation of overseas Vietnamese from various countries to attend. Of these, 50 overseas Vietnamese from 18 countries and territories have returned to Vietnam and are practicing to participate in the parade on the occasion of the September 2nd military parade.

In 80 years, this is the first time overseas Vietnamese have had a parade in the National Day Celebration, Parade, and March on September 2.

Ms. Thu Hang said that overseas Vietnamese have contributed materially, spiritually, and even blood to the cause of national liberation and protection of the Fatherland over the past 80 years.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also invited international friends who have supported Vietnam over the past 80 years, with nearly 100 delegates from this group attending the ceremony.

"This is an opportunity for us to express our gratitude to international friends who have contributed to the cause of protecting and building the country," said Ms. Hang.
