The program "Vietnam Tourism and Culture Promotion Festival in Korea 2025" scheduled to take place from August 23-28, in Gyeongju City, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Korea has just been officially approved by Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Culture Ho An Phong.

The festival has main activities including: Space to promote Vietnamese culture and tourism ; Program to introduce Vietnamese tourism ; Organizing a trade party; Performing arts program; Working program in Korea of leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism .

In particular, the Vietnam Culture and Tourism Promotion Space will display 30 photo panels introducing images of the country, people, culture, and tourism potential of Vietnam associated with the national tourism brand identity "Vietnam - Timeless Charm;" Introducing the National Tourism Year 2025 with the theme "Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities."

In particular, the Vietnam Tourism Promotion Program is expected to have the participation of 200 delegates, including leaders of state agencies managing the fields of culture, tourism and diplomacy of Korea; leaders of Vietnamese diplomatic agencies in Korea; business communities operating in the tourism or related fields of Vietnam and Korea; representatives of Vietnam - Korea friendship associations; press and media agencies...

At the program, images of the country, people, culture, tourism potential of Vietnam; new, rich, diverse and attractive destinations, tourism products and services of Vietnam suitable for the tastes of Korean visitors will be introduced.

In addition, there are policies to facilitate Korean tourists to Vietnam, especially policies to attract tourists in the post-pandemic period, preferential, open policies on e-visas, length of stay, etc.; Exchange, discuss, and connect travel businesses, hotels, and airlines of Vietnam and Korea to strengthen cooperation or sign new tourism cooperation agreements.

The Vietnam Tourism and Culture Promotion Festival in Korea is an annual activity to attract Korean tourists to Vietnam, contributing to the early completion of the goal of welcoming 22-23 million visitors in 2025; creating opportunities for Vietnamese tourism businesses to directly approach Korean tourists as well as meet, exchange, interact and seek new cooperation opportunities.

From 2014 to 2019, the number of Korean tourists to Vietnam increased 5 times, from 849,384 to 4,290,802, maintaining an average growth rate of about 38% per year.

In 2024, Vietnam welcomed and served more than 4.5 million visitors, an increase of 27.1% compared to 2023 and 6.4% compared to 2019. South Korea ranked first among the markets sending visitors to Vietnam after the recovery period due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, in the first 6 months of 2025, the number of Korean visitors to Vietnam only reached about 2.2 million, down 3.2% over the same period.
