On June 12, the People's Committee of Nam Can district held a ceremony to announce the Decision to recognize Tam Giang commune as meeting new rural standards in 2024. On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, comrade Phan Hoang Vu, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council attended.

Tam Giang realizes new rural areas

During the two resistance wars against the French and the Americans to save the country, Tam Giang commune was a historical place with a heroic and glorious revolutionary tradition; the people were industrious, creative in production and had an indomitable fighting spirit against foreign invaders. In 1998, the commune was awarded the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces"by the President .

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Phan Hoang Vu awarded the certificate of new rural commune in 2024 to the leaders of Tam Giang commune, Nam Can district.

In 2011, when implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, the commune only achieved 2/19 criteria including: production organization and security. Up to now, the commune has achieved 19/19 criteria (average income per capita over 59 million VND/year, an increase of more than 47 million VND compared to 2010); the poverty rate is 0.38% (a decrease of more than 9% compared to the time the program was implemented). Most people have access to the national grid, people's awareness of environmental protection is increasingly enhanced; political security, social order and safety are maintained; trust in the leadership of the Party Committee and the government is consolidated and enhanced...

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Phan Hoang Vu awarded certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals with achievements in the movement to build Tam Giang commune to meet new rural standards.

Tam Giang is the 5th/7th commune of Nam Can district to be recognized as meeting new rural standards, actively contributing to the results of new rural construction in the whole province (up to now, 69/82 communes have met new rural standards).

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Phan Hoang Vu emphasized: "The goal of building new rural areas is to meet the increasingly high material and spiritual needs of the people, so this process has no end point. The Party Committee, government and people of Tam Giang commune must continue to strive to achieve the goals and criteria of advanced new rural areas in the coming time.
