On July 11, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City organized a review of 15 years of establishment of the Fund for the Homeland's Seas and Islands - For the Frontline of the Fatherland in Ho Chi Minh City for the period 2009 - 2024; Review of the mobilization and management of the Fund "For the Poor", the Fund for the Homeland's Seas and Islands - For the Frontline of the Fatherland, the source of support for Ho Chi Minh City in 2024; and gratitude to the members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Sharing at the exchange program on the campaign “For the homeland’s sea and islands – For the frontline of the Fatherland”, comrade To Thi Bich Chau said that Ho Chi Minh City has always been a locality with enthusiastic participation of people from all walks of life, organizations and businesses in the funds. It is this sentiment that has created an internal strength to help maintain and organize many meaningful activities towards the sea and islands.
Even when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out fiercely, forcing the entire city to "strain" to cope, the fund still did not run out. For more than 10 years working at the charity class on Hon Chuoi Island ( Ca Mau Province), Major Tran Binh Phuc - a teacher in green uniform - has traveled more than 5km of rocky road every morning to go to class with students in the remote border area. "The love and responsibility of a soldier, along with the innocent eyes of the children, are what keep me here," Major Tran Binh Phuc shared.
The classes are maintained thanks to the support of the Fund “For the Homeland’s Seas and Islands – For the Frontline of the Fatherland” not only providing knowledge but also giving wings to dreams. Many students on remote islands have passed university entrance exams, found stable jobs, and some have even returned to the place where they grew up to contribute to the island’s development.

And in the deep ocean, where there is no sunlight, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thuan, Political Commissar of Submarine 183 - Ho Chi Minh City, along with officers, sailors and soldiers, are always proud to serve on the ship named Ho Chi Minh City. "The space is small and quiet, but it is these conditions that have trained us to be brave, absolutely precise and responsible for every decision made," Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thuan expressed.
Promoting the Vietnamese spirit so that the Fund has a strong vitality
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc emphasized that under the leadership of the Party Committee and the administration, over the years, Ho Chi Minh City has always deserved to be a civilized - modern - affectionate city, including the work of gratitude and policies for people with meritorious services.

At the conference, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc also mentioned the development orientation of Ho Chi Minh City to 2030, with a vision to 2045, in which the city identified that developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation is a mandatory choice for the new era - the era of strong and prosperous development of the country, as directed by General Secretary To Lam.

Another requirement that comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc noted is that all activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City, including the activities of the Fund for the Homeland Sea and Islands - for the Frontline of the Fatherland, must be diverse in form, rich in content, creative in connection, and strongly digitalized. “To achieve these goals, the important role of organizations, individuals, people's organizations, business communities, religious organizations, intellectuals and our compatriots abroad is needed. At the program, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City presented symbolic plaques of frontline support projects. Specifically, the project to support the construction and repair of houses for families of officers and soldiers of Naval Region 2 with an amount of 2 billion VND; the project to support residential houses adjacent to the border militia post of the Ho Chi Minh City Command with an amount of 2.4 billion VND; the project to train combat readiness, living and studying of Brigade 125 with an amount of 200 million VND.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also held a ceremony to honor more than 300 former members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong Province and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (formerly). This is an intellectual and dedicated force that has made important contributions to building the great national unity bloc in recent times.
From 2009 to 2024, the Fatherland Front system at all levels has mobilized a total of more than 552 billion VND, organized over 300 working delegations to the border and islands; implemented hundreds of civil works, including: 105 "Shelters for the poor in border areas"; 19 "Fresh water in border areas" works; 50 billion VND for the program "For a green Truong Sa".
In 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation visited Truong Sa, DKI platform and the Southwest sea, presenting works and gifts worth more than 41 billion VND.
The total mobilization of the “For the Poor” Fund in 2024 reached over 230.9 billion VND; 222.6 billion VND has been spent. The Relief Fund also provided emergency support to localities damaged by storm No. 3 - Yagi (North) with a total budget of over 332 billion VND, 280 tons of goods, through relief missions.
